thank you so much! Yes, it kind of is. I contacted the deviantart staff about it already, but there very sure there won't be an music section on Deviantart. They do accept animation, animated comic books, stories, just about anything but music. I don't see how music doesn't fit in actually.

I have to agree dA can be a bit too focused on visual pieces, but I know several musical artists here tend to add music to a still picture that thereby work like a cd cover, and submit it to flash/interactive.

I'm familiar with that, but I'd much rather use services like Soundcloud in that case, which at least is dedicated to music. I just really miss the community feeling like here on Deviantart.

Deviantart is very visual... I think most deviants post a link to their Youtube-channel when they want to let you hear their music...
Maybe in the future their will be a music section, who knows?
And yeah I never heard of Soundcloud before, so I guess it's indeed not very known
