I know how you feel. I actually got it back by going to a con and taking commissions (only sold one D: but I drew a lot on the side) and now I'm trying to do one thing a week or so.

I decided only doing requests of my own characters As much as I love doing other OCs, I only take that on trades. Haha. Or if I feel like doing someone's OC.

Exactly <3 Every now and then I might open a request slot here and there, but overall, it'll just give me an idea for what characters people actually enjoy seeing X3 I know Tousai is one of them, and god I need to do something for Amara, it's been so long.
