interestingly enough - I had just had a discussion with my fellow comrades about the state of our
Judo club, though smaller than many of the others and without the financial backing - somehow they manage to make EVERY practice (5 times per week = 3 hours each practice). This small group (5) manage to make it all worth it - I couldn't be more proud to work at their side, so when I saw this piece it evoked a great emotion and couldn't have more perfectly matched the souls of these fine men.
So thank you for giving me the chance to see this piece

dude, I can't help it - I love the Guardsmen for their "human-ness" (you can actually connect with them) and the Tau are awesome - I keep thinking samurai when I see them. Wrap that together into a interesting and enjoyable plot and you have me riveted. Plus, the whole idea of using a voting system to help determine where the story leads was a great way to help immerse people! Where'd you think of that?

Well, back in late 07, one of my earlier drawings [link] got very popular in terms of views. So last year, I figured I take that un-named characters and breathe some life into her by making a single drawing of [link] seen through the eyes of a common guardsman via short journal entry. But the journal entry had a predicament at the end of what he might do. I left it open to see what people might say, and therefore I saw a split in opinion.

So I decided to make another journal entry, thinking this will probably be only four or five parts long, and because I had left it open ended by the end of each chapter, I never really know how it will end. It has been almost a year since I began this story, and the story took on a life of its own.

funny how things turn out, eh? - very cool though
I appreciate how you are able to adapt to what the readers would want, and being able to
have that flexibility while still holding onto a main plot is pretty creative.

I'd ask how long you see this one going, but that would be a spoiler -
so have you thought of applying this to any other stories/drawings?

I really don't know ho long this will go. If certain choices have been made, the story would have been shorter, and some choices would have made the story longer. I cannot predict as I don't really write the next part until the votes are counted.

As for applying this to something else, I have never thought about it. I never thought this would get this far and so popular.

- but I enjoyed it nonetheless

...I'll be honest - this story was pretty much the only reason I started a DA profile in the first place.
Gotta love a good story and this voting option gives it a new aspect that is refreshing and new [at least to myself]. Plus I love the Tau and Guardsmen - how could I not be taken? Great work. As for the current storyline, I'd have to go with Opt - 1 - the target is close - they are rested - they will have a flowing body of water between them and it is already difficult to see in there, they should bank on the noise and sight factor and try to sneak towards their destination.
