By the way, what blood mixtures do you use? I've been trying to come up with a good one for various projects.

I use a few different kinds. Blood paste for filling wounds and creating scratches basicly where you don't want dripping. There are a ton of products out there under names like "Fresh scab", "Blood Jam", "blood paste"......
The studio I work from makes their own fake blood, using corn syrup, water, food coloring, zinc oxide, and a little instant coffee crystals. You can get some great stuff from the stores too like "Reel" "KD 151"..... Check online too.

Cool, thanks. I've been using cheap hair gel as a base, with cocoa powder and food coloring (some green neutralizes the pink pretty well). Works okay, but I'll check out some of those others. I think the coffee crystals might be what's missing for my recipe...
