Sorry for the late response! Been buried in school work and only just got a chance to start Season 5.

Definitely the strongest season opener since Return of Harmony. Starlight was awesome and refreshing change of pace as far as villains go. Really looking forward to her inevitable return.

If you didn't hear they just started a spinoff series featuring all the kids of the main cast they just fucking started with a goddamn bombshell.

So it turns out that there's a good chance Sakura's daughter ISN'T her daughter and is actually Karin's.

There's been speculation of this ever since she was first revealed, and I wouldn't be surprised if it's true.  But at the same time I'm wondering if Kishi's gonna just pull some retarded "No you're actually my daughter" bait-and switch.

Had a couple of panels from it and some fan reactions pop up on my tumblr dash.

...I had actually completed a script for one last video rant about Naruto, but ultimately decided against it for two reasons: first and foremost being that I could no longer bring myself to care about anything in the series enough even to give it a proper sendoff.

...I am now sorely tempted to drag that thing up from the ether and update it after witnessing the things I have today.

Because I can honestly say, without a single shred of hyperbole, that I have never laughed so hard in my life.

The other thing that kept me from releasing that video was the fact that, while the ending was terrible, it was terrible in the generic sense. Bad enough to leave people face-palming in secondhand embarrassment, but nothing that would live in infamy (not to the standards of, say, Beast Machines or Digimon 02).

But this... Understanding the horrible implications that came with that ending was one thing... Having them actually shown? This is a whole new level of madness. This... is something monumental. You could write a dissertation on this. You could base an entire class on this. Kish-Kish has constructed a self-tribute to his own ineptitude and idiocy... and it is the most hilarious god damned thing I have ever seen.

I... have mixed feelings...

On one hand: Yay! Bishop, Utroms, and Professor WhoHoneycutt!

On the other... I feel like crawling into a corner and dying.

I mean... Props to the showrunners for having the cojones to do.... THAT... but just... fuck, man. I know at least some of the damage will be fixed (it kind of has to), but nonetheless... shit. On that note, more props to ‘em for turning the Triceratons, one of the goofiest aspects of the comics/’03 cartoon IMO, into such a legitimately terrifying presence. I could argue that they took it too far, but... that’s probably just the clinical depression brought on by that... whatever the hell that was...

But yeah. For now I'll just say NaruHina is asinine and still seems to have the most vocally obnoxious fanbase(at least from what I've seen of their reactions to the end), but the basic idea of the pairing wasn't offensive.

SasuSaku is a metaphysical assault on all forms of decency and common sense.

Personally I've always imagined this playing over the final credits. Probably because of Tobi's master plan to fuck the moon or whatever the hell that was about...

You know, I did some thinking, and while I'm not sure how well it holds up, Sasuke and Sakura's relationship is kinda like the one between Joker and Harley Quinn.  And, worst of all, Kishimoto seems to think that this is a GOOD relationship.  Kinda had a fit of hysterical laughter from this revelation.

Well, time to start the counter before their daughter starts killing her classmates because her pet cat died or something; seriously, that revelation about the Uchiha's being biologically emo destroyed whatever credibility Kshi might have managed to scrape back together after the series jumped the shark for the 7th time.  You're thoughts?

Btw, I've been itching to ask: have you by any chance played Skyrim?  I've fallen in love with the Elder Scrolls Series, and I was hoping to spread the awesomeness~.

The difference is the relationship between Harley Quinn and the Joker was well-developed and a fairly realistic portrayal of abusive relationships. They didn't hold punches when it came to showing just how fucked up their relationship was. It wasn't romanticized. With SasuSaku it just comes off as "If a guy tries to kill you twice, he's an irredeemable asshat. But a third time? He actually loved you all along and you should totally bang him!"

Yeah, Satanspawn or Saladfingers or whatever the fuck her name was looks ready to kill at the drop of a headband. If that Part 3/Spinoff thing somehow turned out to be romantic thriller about her going Yandere on Balto or Beetleborg or whatever the fuck his name was and murdering his inevitable harem one by one I could suddenly get behind this franchise again.

Was that an actual plotpoint? I wouldn't know, since I only read the last three chapters. Wouldn't surprise me, I suppose. Hell, based on the epilogue Kish-Kish seems to think that all personality traits for every family are genetic. At any rate, I don't think you can jump the shark when you've long since sank to the bottom of the ocean.

Don't own it, but have played it with friends. Had fun and seemed like a perfectly fine game. Just not something I'm willing to invest time/money in at the moment.
