Glad you like them! In the 1980s, I was working very much in an Aubrey Beardsley-influenced style of ink-drawing, but I can use a range of styles.

I'm very fond of peacocks and peacock feathers, and Hera is a favourite goddess of mine, too! (Also Athene and Persephone.) I have vases of peacock feathers and a peacock feather fan. Very 1890s!

A little Suburban Beatnik would be right… I may be old enough to be his mother, but really… Ahem! It's an amusing story, When I was about 17, all of 35 years ago, we did the French Revolution at school (A Levels). We didn't have many course books with pictures, but I remember seeing the exquisite profile drawing and thinking, "He's rather gorgeous!" it was the height of the New Romantic era, too, so dressing as if he'd been an extra in the Adam Ant Prince Charming video was an asset, too! Anyway, he sort of fell off my radar for a few decades (I have an extensive collection of historical and literary darlings!). Then, in the run-up to Bastille Day this year, I decided to get a bit more Revolution-y and make a t-shirt, and I chanced upon the terracotta bust by Deseine , which I'd never known existed before. And I was stunned: Max, in 3D, viewable from all angles, and so beautiful from all of them! So I've fallen rather hard. And I'm reading the excellent McPhee biography: what a tragedy. In view of what happened on this day, the poor boy has a terrible effect on my lifelong raging hurt/comfort complex: that long agony breaks my heart. His picture's on the wall, and today I'll be wearing a red ribbon choker à la victime, and my "Revolutionary to the Max" t-shirt which I had printed.

How lovely! I would love to see your T-shirt. I'll be wearing my tricolor rosette (I wore it for Bastille Day, too, of course).

I have a similar story, only it's Lafayette instead of Robespierre. XD (Coincidentally, you'll be seeing that come up on my Tumblr today, though it's been in the queue for several days now.) But I fall hard for many historical figures, including Robespierre and Saint-Just, and George Washington. :3

This is the shirt design .
I also did this one , with a nod to Adam Ant's Stand and Deliver.

Hm, well, let's just say I'm on the other side when it comes to America. A couple of family members emigrated, served in the Cumberland Co. North Carolina Loyal Militia, and came back to Scotland as refugees. I've written and published on Pattie Ferguson, Willie Leslie, John Pitcairn: people from Fife and Edinburgh, whom I love dearly, whose letters I have transcribed and edited.
