Ahh, I see! I don't think they've been in Washington for years, but once upon a time they used to do Salmon Days. And no worries, it seems every event I hear about so far I'm a couple weeks past the deadline this year. Still, I'm just starting so I guess there's merit in not biting off too much at once. ; )

There's a fair amount of detail to be found on the models and I am very fond of the old Macross/Mospeada/Robotech designs.

It took a bit of doing to get all the animation to fit in the small file size.

I scanned each image in using an old Epson desktop scanner.
Then I cleaned up and aligned each image in photoshop.
If memory serves correctly, the pictures were then imported into Adobe's Imageready and then finally outputted as an animated GIF.
Later on, I attempted to output the animation again, as a clean black and white line art animation.
However, Imageready was no longer being supported. So for that version of this cartoon, I had to take a number of extra steps to figure it out.
Ultimately, I had to resort to using Adobe's Flash.
It took some time, but it did the trick.
