I think I'll be back in a little bit! My brother hasn't had an more seizures this month, and though I haven't had any days off work or being an adult in a several months I've taken a few photos of Flora that I'll edit this weekend!

Sounds like a pretty active life. Awesome that you volunteer. I haven't volunteered in a few years now. As for languages, I learned a few words and phrases on deployment, though I've always liked being able to see the basics in a variety of words. When I was in Japan, the most important thing I learned to ask is "where is the bathroom" because they're all secret and hidden. Hah.
I have two small little dogs, so they don't need too much walking. They play together and get most of their energy out, thankfully. Sounds like you have a really intense dog though! I haven't done much running or anything active since deployment, unfortunately. Once I get into physical therapy, I can probably get back to where I was physically within a year, I hope.
I hurt myself on deployment. I fell in the engineering space, caught myself on a burning hot pipe, and ripped my right arm out of the socket until it was flush on my back. We popped it back in, but the rotator was destroyed. I limped through the rest of deployment with it, and then got in for surgery soon after I got home.

I guess it's active but I hate too much down time. I'd like it best if I had a tightly packed day with only a few hours to myself. Scheduled and planned days make me happy, unless it's a planned relaxation day in which case I only walk 4 miles and then sit and read or watch stuff online.
I wish I knew Japanese I have so many people (usually Japanese or Korean tourists) walk into work by accident and need directions but they don't speak enough English. I've not been to Japan even though one of my childhood friends moved there after we finished college. I may have to work on that since I think it'd be fun to visit and try to take our illegal tattoos into a bath house.
Flora is still a puppy and has WAY too much energy if I don't walk her a lot. I leave her at my parent's, or brother's or grandmother's when I work a shift longer than four hours, so she gets a lot of walking with me so that she won't tire them out. What kind of small dogs? And small as in under 30lbs or tiny like Flora in her only 5lbs?
Oh gosh you must have been in so much pain the whole time! I've never broken so much as a bone so it's hard for me to imagine how much that must have hurt. I am glad that you will be able to get some of it repaired and that physical therapy helps! I'm guessing they had to make replacement tendons and attachments to repair the damage? If your lucky those will last a long time! They've done some great things for joint replacement in the last twenty years so you should get well soon.

Yeah, I guess I work best on a rigid schedule myself. I'm used to doing close to 100 hours a week at work, though having these few weeks off has been kind of crazy to me. Not sure what to do with myself.
Japan is an interesting place. They definitely wouldn't let you in. They cross their arms like a big X and tell you to leave. It's not just in bath houses. Tattoos are seriously frowned upon. If they can see them, it's often a no go.
My dogs are both Jack Russell Shitzu mixes and only weigh around 10 lbs each. They can still be a handful, however.
I think a bone would have been better than the muscles and tendons. Really hard to bounce back from that. What they ended up doing is installing anchor points (basically hooks) and getting the remaining muscle and hooking it on to the anchor points. It's super tight right now because there is no longer any gaps. It looked a lot like a string wrapped pork roast when they were done. I got to see the pictures. Very odd.
Hopefully all goes well. It was an Army doctor, which don't have great reputations, but so far, so good.

You've probably finished what feels like every Tv show and read all the books etc you could want not envious. I hate when I get sick it's so hard to come up with interesting things to do! I find forcing myself to read or study textbooks is easier than new tv after a while. What do you try to do?
Yeah Josi got kicked out when her suit slipped and the lotus tattoo showed just a little. And since mine are all on my back I'd have to wear an old style one piece thing. Thankfully easy to cover for work and everyday things.
10lbs is twice what Flora weighs! I can imagine they'd be able to play even more than she can
Yeah bone can be easier than tendons; since the tendons often don't have many replicating cells unlike the bones which do some new growth even in adults. I've had to watch a bunch of the surgery videos for various classes over the years so I can understand the weird out factor. But the procedure is so common the doctors should be fairly knowledgeable about the procedure. So I hope you got the best of the doctors ^_^

Well, I have been spending a lot of time organizing my digital media collection. Sounds like a small task, but I have my own server full of stuff and it's actually somewhat of a nightmare I've been trying to avoid. Thankfully, however, I think I'm nearly done with this. Just a few more days and I'm back to work, at least.
My tattoos are fine if I wear long sleeves, but I'm a t-shirt kind of guy. That said, if it's a job, I don't mind covering up. At least the Navy is cool about having tattoos.
These two can really get into it. At least they play with each other for the most part.
Yeah, it was a pretty basic surgery, and things seem to be going right so far, so that's a perk. Hah.

I totally understand I collect stuff like not just music, but whole classes (I like to keep a recording of classes and all my notes and assignments) of information on my computer I'm nervous about straightening things out with only the 1Tb of info; so a server might take me a long long time. If you get it done you'll at least be organized for a few months!
