# About me

Diana was placed into existence as a pure embodiment of one who is there to collect the souls of everything that has passed; the very first and most powerful of the Grim Reapers, Death itself. Her only job is to collect the spirits of those passed on, making her neutral in the balance of light and dark power. By every being, she means EVERY being, for everything has a time limit.

Evan though she is a neutral party in the balance, she does not control everything that occurs when concerning which side might possibly win. She only does her job and nothing more, and never, EVER, doesn't a collect a soul out of order, as there are dire consequences for such actions, the prime being that others who are not meant to die are slain in order to keep life ending properly; one life to save another.

As the years passed, Diana witnessed the rise and fall of numerous civilizations countless times, and with the rises and falls, as well as changing religions, her visage also changed to fit the stories and beliefs pertaining to Death, the only constant thing remaining was her weapon of choice, being the scythe. She can kill someone with a single touch, yes, but uses the scythe to sever the soul entirely from the body, carrying the soul off to its final destination once collected by bringing them to a door. She knows of what lies specifically for a final destination, but never tells of what is in store for the individual, as that is a grave taboo, a lesson she learned when souls tried to escape her once they knew, especially if bound for Hell or to nothingness.

The days seemed to pass in the blink of an eye for Diana, and her name would change along with it, though only her outward appearance name, her current of course being Diana. She never allows anyone to see her face if they actually know who she is. When collecting a soul, she pertains the classic cloak and scythe visage, and a skull appears to be painted over her face, keeping with the skeleton in a cloak myth. When she is taking breaks, she merely wanders about the human realm and minds her own business, being sure to keep people at arms length so they won't die from her touch. The only things that will not die from her fingers are other Grim Reapers, though she hides her face from even them.

Her method of creating more Grim Reapers to help with the job of soul collection are those who either have begged for a second chance, or those who still pertain the qualifications to be such, all of them having already died. Once they have been made into a reaper, their memories of their human lives are erased, and most usually never remember them, but will allow them to view their memories through their records should they so ask of it.

Included in the process of collecting souls and to know which are next, Diana holds a list of souls to obtain in exact order. It is written on a scroll that remains the same length permanently, shortening the length of the paper itself to keep it tidy. It is possible for names to appear and disappear on the list, but it is impossible to actually tamper with the list itself, i.e make a name from the list vanish even if they are meant to die

{ I was thinking about how these two might behave one another. After all, one's abilities interrupts the other's progress with reaping. A soul that was predetermined to be reaped in due time through whatever means is ready soon only for another's touch to mess with the system. Diana may not be too fond of such power running around disrupting that natural flow of everything. }

quoth the raven. tbf d has no issues with healers, especially knowing that changes very often occur with advances in modern medicine or...supernatural causes, in this instance. she usually goes with the punches pretty well, and the List she has has a mind of its own, so names can disappear and reappear whenever something happens.

it's only when someone outright cheats their own death that she gets pissed. like, they know they're supposed to die but find a way out of it

she usually gets a soul in the end regardless, so she doesn't normally care how long it takes

{ "She usually gets a soul in the end regardless, so she doesn't normally care how long it takes," well, that is indeed a fair point. On top of this she is accustomed to the list doing as it pleases. It is interesting that there are no qualms to be found with healers, but given the last statement that makes sense. Diana's view of healers comes off as lukewarm at best with hostility geared only towards cheaters at the game of life. Guess my initial perception is wrong, but I learned something new in the process! Then these two may have a budding decent relationship ahead. Now, since I watched you first, might I propose a rp? I can always bring up ideas that you might like before starting to give us a general direction of what to work with.}

quoth the raven. i would definitely call her opinions on healers as more indifferent. frankly they are simply doing their job to help people, and if someone was truly meant to die then they would. they do their job, just as she is bound to do hers.

i would love a rp! i have a few basic ideas that i go to for starters but am always willing to brainstorm c:

quoth the raven. not at all !
She was panicked. Full on panicking.

She was told, for years, that she lacked the ability for this to even happen. And yet, here she was, her sudden exhaustion and boughts of nausea confirmed.

She was with child.

Diana had felt almost mechanical as she left to go to the same spot she usually went to to think; a tranquil lake deep in the forest. Her hands had mindlessly drifted to her still not swollen stomach, her mind still in shambles to catch up with the news. She was pregnant. She suddenly sank to the ground, her dark chocolate eyes still locked onto the lake before her, hands still resting on her tummy. What was she going to do? Of course she knew who the father was; she was no harlot. But how on earth was she to tell him? Not to mention she knew his feelings on hanyou...

Anger on his part be damned, should he find out, she was keeping the child. It was hers. She was unsure whether to cry from joy or anguish and confusion...

((don't mind me- just dropping this here cause your oc is beautiful and i would love to rp-- *puts dis down carefully*))

Blood pounded in Amicus's ears as he forced himself to crawl into the tight space between the rocks near the ditch. He grimaced as he gripped his leg. It hurt so much...it felt like the burning from the inside out. He had been evading these.. bounty hunters for a while but it seems they had caught up to him and had been smart enough to equip themselves with silver weaponry. Not so good for his case.

He held his breath as he heard the shouts of the men and pounding of horses hooves approaching. The twenty seven year old tiredly closed his eyes, propping his head against the cool rock as he waited. They were going to find him finally.. they would drag him out and butcher him for being what he was. He didn't want this.

The werewolf laid there in silence, gripping his leg as he listened to his hunters coming closer by the minute.

quoth the raven. oh my goodness, thank you !
Of course Diana was fully aware of the situation. She was Death; the Death. However, being a neutral party, her hands were tied in the situation. She knew well enough he was not fated to die this night though. Flickering into sight above his head, she lied on her stomach on a thick branch in the tree beside his hiding place. Her long black hair hung limp over her shoulder, her posture more of a lounging feline than that of some great natural force. Making her presence known immediately started a chain reaction.

Animals had always been more sensitive to disturbances, after all.

As soon as she appeared, the horses reacted, bucking back from the area and causing a complete uproar, a few even managing to shake off the riders before hightailing it in the opposite direction. They could smell her scent of dead lilies, knew what she was and grew spooked. They wanted to go no where near where she was. It was enough to send the hunters running, but more so to track down and get back control over their suddenly rambunctious steeds.

Diana scoffed, turning her eyes away from the fading figures and letting her blackened gaze drift down to the still hiding lycan, her expression deadpanned as she simply stared.

"They're gone," she said simply, her voice all encompassing despite how softly she had spoken. It was an innate gift of her; no one dared breathe in her presence, at least in terms of those who still held breath in their lungs

((You're welcome ^^
mygod-thisreplythou-so good))

Amicus's eyes snapped open when his nose twitched at an unusual
scent that appeared with the sound of the horses screaming, fleeing
as their masters chased after them. Horses were expensive after all.

But that smell.. it was pleasant yet it made his hair stand on end in a
way that made him hesitant to leave the safety of the rocks. Amicus was
certainly startled by the voice, despite the soft tone, like water running
over smooth pebbles. Quiet yet calling for attention.

The werewolf winced as he slowly pushed himself out from between the rocks,
unable to turn around properly. He blinked the dirt out of his eyes as he felt the
leaves beneath his hand, gripping his leg with the other as he slowly looked up
to find a woman laying in the tree.

He pondered at her appearance and her actions, the way her eyes blinked slowly
like a lazy feline and the way she breathed- her stillness of a doe staring into the distance.
Despite her quiet beautiful there was something amiss about her, something eerie.

"...Who are you?...Did you have something to do with the men's horses fleeing?"

"In a sense," she answered softly, finally allowing her eyes to drift shut, keeping them closed for longer than a standard blink, "animals usually don't stick around when I'm near, and for good reason. Their instincts are superior to a mere humans after all," she scoffed. She twisted then, nimbly gliding her way from her lounged position and dropping to the ground. She towered over the edge of the ditch, once more staring down at the lycanthrope with her expression remaining passive.

"You aren't human either. That Wolf that bit you granted you new life. The old you died that day," she added, her movements the epitome of grace as she moved into a crouch, "your old instincts are heightened. You know what I am. I have no need to tell you, Amicus Wallace..."

The englishman swallowed as Diana approached, feeling this
slight sense of dread with each passing moment. Part of him wanted
to ask how she knew his name- how she new of the beast-

How she knew that he was not human. But before any of those questions
even had a chance to appear on his tongue her words gave him some clarity,
pushing Amicus to ponder as to who- or rather what she was.

"You're death.. aren't you?" He blinked as if taking a moment to process the
information he spoke aloud. "But why are are you here? I'm not dead."
Amicus winced as he felt his leg twitched, making him grip the aching wound tighter-
as if that would actually help it recover in the long run.

"You aren't healing because you fight your Wolf," she growled, eyes narrowing as ice dripped into her words for a brief moment, "but, you are correct. You are not dead, nor were you meant to this night. I simply...intervened," she mused, lips twitching to the briefest hints of a smirk before fading entirely, "they would not have found you, but a lesson needed to be learned here." She stood straight again at that, stepping away from the edge of the ditch, her volume of voice remaining the same but still carrying to his ears.

"You are not human anymore, Amicus. Fighting your Wolf is fighting your self. I am to believe you still have black outs when you change, correct?" she asked, although was sure of the answer already. She made no move to help him as she waited for him to leave the ditch. Not that she could help anyway; if she touched him, he would surely die

Amicus couldn't help but flinch from the way she spoke in
such an icy tone. What was he supposed to do however?
If he didn't fight the monster within him it could end up running amuck.
Amicus didn't want that to happen.

He assumed he was meant to follow her and slowly got to his knees before
forcing himself to stand up right, staggering a moment before he found balance.
Amicus dug his heels into the ditch's slope as he slowly began to make his
way up after her.

"But the wolf is dangerous- I cannot trust it to not harm others-"
Amicus paused at the mention of his blackouts before replying coolly.
"Yes I have black outs... though sometimes I get glimpses.. of what the
wolf saw when it was in my place. At least in my dreams I get those glimpses."

O-nceUponANightmare In reply to Amicus-Wallace [2017-09-27 22:09:11 +0000 UTC]

"The blackouts will get worse if you deny him. Gaining control is when you reign him in. Acceptance is knowledge in itself," she said simply, eyes narrowing again, "treating it as a separate being is where you lose control because you simply hold him at arm's length." She stopped then, merely staring him down. She had seen others driven to madness and self destruction, because they couldn't cope with the black outs. The blurred and flashed images of what the Wolf had done, the lives they had stolen. She despised it, seeing already fleeting lives utterly wasted.

"Have you met any packs? There should be some in the area..." she mumbled, her brows furrowing in thought, as though she had merely been speaking to herself

Amicus listened intently to what she said. She may be death
and not like how he dealt with his.. other half but it would be
wise to listen to what she had to say.

"No. I've never really met another werewolf let alone an entire
pack of them." His brows furrowed before he ended up stepping forward,
in a slightly demanding tone whether he meant to sound that way or not.

"Why are you telling me all of this? Surely lady death has more important matters
to attend to than some mongrel in the forest? Why me then?"

"Is a practical deity not permitted to do what they please?" she answered almost mockingly, her voice taking a cynical tone, "There are reapers who do the same as I on every planet. I can afford some leniency in my role." She paused again, arms crossing loosely over her chest, eyes unblinking.

"I hate to see a life wasted. I may be the end of all things but my...brother can be needlessly cruel to his own creations. I also like to rub it in his face when his cruelty backfires," she answered. It was mostly the truth. Life was...horrible, and even his own body showed it, riddle with scars as it was.

Amicus had finally got to the top where Diana was,
standing before her while favoring his uninjured leg.
"Your brother? So your brother is creator-"
He paused deciding it best not to ask what he was about
to ask.

He sighed lightly. "Then how does his cruelty 'backfire'? People
coming back from the grave, having a lovely life despite the horror
show that it is?"

"Precisely," she scoffed, fiddling with a lock of her hair, "he creates life, but he thinks it no more than a toy, a thing to use at his disposal. He does not cherish what he creates," she sighed, her expression turning...saddened. She shook the look away with a sharp turn of her head.

"Do not squander this new life, Amicus. It is more of a gift than you give credit for..."

Amicus replied defensively.
"How can you call it life when I haven't been truly living for the past

I've become? It isn't."

"That is why you can see me when I should be otherwise hidden, no?" she hissed, the sardonic smirk back on her face but not quite reaching her eyes, "you're not living your life as you should, and that makes you half dead anyway. You're going through the motions of your so called 'life'. I cherish the souls my brother makes or reuses because I eventually guide them to their next life. How do you think I feel when I see it merely squandered?" She sighed, squeezing her eyes shut and pinching the bridge of her nose.

"The best advice I can give you if the next time you shift, do not fight it so much. You're already using the instincts as you are now, or you wouldn't have known what I am. Not fighting the change will lessen the pain," again, the smirk, but something in her eyes changed with it, "not that it won't hurt anyway. Just...less."

Amicus returned the grim look before he looked down at
his hands, reimagining them form into paws. He flinched at
the pained memory. "....I will try to..heed your advice. Anything
to make it not hurt so much." He closed his eyes.
"I can hardly take such stress and pain at those levels anymore.
Maybe this is the help I've been seeking.."

He opened his eyes, the silver pools looking at Diana with a slight
more willingness to understand the beast and in turn himself.
"Thank you Lady Death....for too long I've searched for some way to
help me cope and you've.. clarified how I should handle this."

A low, sharp growl suddenly sounded from her, and the prior look of borderline cruelty and insanity vanished. Diana had her own demons to deal with, and they were far different than a wolf.

"Not fighting the transition is the first step. Meditation might help in learning how your Wolf's mind works. Call it a bit of soul searching," she hummed, a small chuckle ringing in her words

about doing that, much less seeing someone mediate himself.

"Do you have any ideas of how I should go about meditating?
Like where or when, or even how to help myself to reach such focus?"
Amicus was prepared to follow Diana's advice. Maybe it would work.
He hoped it did.

Amicus blinked, a little startled from how close Diana had
gotten, his eyes flicking to her finger that was barely above his skin.
Listen.
He frowned before closing his eyes a little, trying to clear his mind for the moment
like she was suggesting. Would he actually hear anything though?

After a few moments of just nothing Amicus's eyes inevitably snapped back open in
shock. "!? H-he's.. I'm.." He shook his head.
Oh yes at the very moment Amicus let his mind go blank the Wolf made itself known, seeming to scold with
the annoyance of being held back for so long.
"I heard him."

"He won't. He'll do things to save your life for the most part, because it's his as well. There is no ridding him until your ultimate demise. Would you call a normal wolf evil for attacking a man viewed as a threat? Or if the wolf was looking for a meal?" she prodded, leaning closer. The very air around her was cold, but not the sort of chill one would get if it were cold outside. It was...ceasing. A nothingness, an empty sort of cold.
