Von Grafenstein German Shepherds. the guy I spoke to in Petco had a long-haired dog and said they specialize, but i couldn't find many long haired pictures on the site so idk for sure. Beautiful dogs, anyway, and not in Maine. :-P

So I was at work today and overhear a woman talking about a puppy they're picking up when they get back from vacation. I think she said it was 8 weeks old, and I asked her what kind of dog it was, and she said german shepherd. So I asked her where she got it.
I dunno how far your mom is willing to drive for puppies, but apparently there's a kennel in Warren, Maine called Suki Kennels that breeds german shepherds, and, since this woman just bought a german shepherd puppy from them, obviously they're still in operation. I haven't been able to find a website, but I'll keep digging and let you know if I find anything. You're obviously welcome to do your own research as well.
