I usually don't do the HappyBirthday/Commenting on profile thingy, but I thought it was worth saying at least once, been a fan of your work for well over a year. I know you'd rather have remained Anonymous as artist, but I'm just glad you you took a name so it's a bit easier to track down your amazing stuff.
Aside from that... I guess the explosive guy got it pretty much right, down there. Keep the awesomeness in your own rhythm.

Hello~ I wasn't sure if this was your account at first, but I'm delighted to see that it is. I don't believe I've ever had an opportunity to tell you this directly but I want to now, even if you don't see this:
I greatly admire your artwork. I might even go so far as to say I simply love it. Artists frequently come and go in that big fandom, some stay longer, but none have had as much an impact as you. Your work is sincere, honest, charming, and above all respectful to the original source material, which is a weird thing to say but many others I've seen have lost that attribute. I respect your values as a person and as an artist and I thank you greatly for all you've given us.

As fun as undersized horses are to draw, you're likely to be disappointed if you're watching me in hopes of finished pieces of it/even the volume of sketching that I've done of them before.

Oh, no, nothing like that. Although the fandom is, uh. Well, it's something! But I'm not embarrassed or put off or anything at all.
Before my computer exploded, I mostly just drew ponies when I was doing quick sketches as warmups for the day, or a few last sketches after the day was over. After my computer exploded, I drew a ton of them because they're fun and easy and I couldn't very well go into painting something seriously on the old grandfather computer. Now I have a computer again and can work on other things.
It's actually... pretty unusual for me to draw fanart. It happens sometimes, but certainly not with the regularity you might expect. I feel like focusing too much on someone else's creation kind of strips you of your own artistic personality. I have so many ideas for myself and things unrelated to fandoms. Back in the days when I drew things like pokemon regularly, I had almost no creative independence until I was in the middle of sketching and found myself going "why am I doing this? I could have so much more fun designing my own monster."
Does that make sense?
It's almost certain that I will occasionally paint fanart things (including miniature ungulates) and might even do them for printing purposes, but it wont ever be a staple for me.

Haha, yes that does make sense! Personally, I need art direction to make things; that's why my gallery is filled with pastiches and parodies, I work better when presented with ideas from others --- but for sure I can see how fanart mostly is going through the motions, working with a model sheet etc.

Well thank you! Haha, oh gosh. I *still* haven't gone through and added everyone back to my +watch. I've been avoiding DA (and the computer) and having a fit with traditional painting to try and ease the lack of photoshop in my life.
I win all procrastination contests ever.

Hey taking a break from DA or the internet is never a bad idea, did it myself
and I'm feeling much better because of it, felt like I lost my drive to draw
for a long while. I'm actually doing alot more work in Sai then in photoshop,
it's kind of fun and different haha.
