Two more questions. What was the camera stolen and do you like to write?

OklahomaSpirit In reply to RussianScimitar [2012-06-28 16:34:22 +0000 UTC]
oh I love writing.one of my favorite pass times.
it happened so long ago I can't even remember. I just remember it was a black, slim camera that my parents surprised me with and someone at school stole it from me the same day I got it (some birthday that was)

Yeah, it is sad that happened. Anyways, I am a southerner as well, though there some things about the culture that I cannot stand. I also like to write as well, for example:

OklahomaSpirit In reply to RussianScimitar [2012-06-28 16:41:20 +0000 UTC]
it was sad. they replaced the camera with a phone and a few books and I was happy. Eh, somethings you get used to. I live around the bible belt/ tornado ally so the culture isn't too bad as long as you can ignore die-hard bible thumpers and enjoy life your own way.
that's really good

Ahh..you see that's where I disagree with you. I am an athiest but I feel that the bible-thumpers are somewhat important for prevent the liberals from destroying the culture of the south.

OklahomaSpirit In reply to RussianScimitar [2012-06-28 17:06:59 +0000 UTC]
i never said they weren't important; just that I don't appreciate them swearing up and down that I'm 'going to hell' every time I have a philosophical discussion with them. I'm pagan so it's a tad frustrating listening to them. They're important, I just don't like 'em

RussianScimitar In reply to OklahomaSpirit [2012-06-28 17:11:36 +0000 UTC]
Yeah that does get quite annoying. I hope you can get Paganism revived in America.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
OklahomaSpirit In reply to RussianScimitar [2012-06-28 17:12:58 +0000 UTC]
it would lose itself in the revival. i'd rather it stay the quiet, family religion that it's managed to stay thus far although it'd be nice if it was accepted.

You mean you worried that some chap like a "Constantine-like" guy would then make it a state-thing which would contaminate it?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
OklahomaSpirit In reply to RussianScimitar [2012-06-28 17:23:12 +0000 UTC]
I'm not caught up on Constantine but yes I'm worried it'd be contaminated in a way. it'd be the 'new rave' for all the youngsters (I sorta can't say much about age) but it'd lose it's meaning and it's connection for sure. A lot of religions have ended up like that and it saddens me to see them spread far too wide far too quickly and they explode during one time and then die out and so far Paganism and its branching sister religions have managed to survive just by being a true family religion. No going out and preaching/witnessing. No shreiking punishments to non-believers and certainly no shunning the curious.

RussianScimitar In reply to OklahomaSpirit [2012-06-28 17:33:17 +0000 UTC]
You know the early Christians were like that. They were the pagan Romans scapegoat. The Romans had an inconsistent policy towards the Christians, such as Nero blaming the Christians fort the fire of Rome while Emepror Trajan telling a regional governor to leave the Christians if they did not try to overthrow the state. Then Christian persecution became more pronounced during the Dominate of Dicoletan and then Constantine comes around and then gives Christianity the "official" backing.
Christianity started out like that true religion but the persecution gave the emphasis on the matyrs like Jesus. When Constantine gave the religion the legitmacy, then it started to change.

OklahomaSpirit In reply to RussianScimitar [2012-06-28 17:43:36 +0000 UTC]
I'm aware of how Christianity was. I'm one of 5 in my family who aren't christian. It's the kind of things that happened then and there that I don't want to see. I mean the damage done back then could be tripled today with the technology we have and that's just awful.

sometimes people are very polite about self-portraits. sometimes they're typical. it depends on whose online and when.
