Mmm, I haven't really done any comic book work specifically, though I might borrow a few elements here and there for my style. I have done illustrations for a few books though, and I love to do my own of books that I read.

Sure! The background was completely black. I covered up the painted flower with paper so it wouldn't get paint on it, and then lightly splattered dark pink, light pink, and white paint all over. After that I just painted swirlies with black.
