Pretty cool concepts, the way of showing the technological elements of the girls are very neat.

If I'm right they are humans with implants replacing part of their senses. Is there some kind of lore behind replacing some of their respiratory system (mouth and nose)?

They are indeed human.

Some people there have weaker genes, especially among the lower classes, which can lead to bad eyesight or weak immune systems.

Some people people might need those mouthpiece to breathe filtred air, free of germs or allergens.

oui, il me semble que le canada fait à peu prés 900.000km2 pour 48 millions d'habitants et que le Québec en ai une province qui compte 12 millions de francophones... je ne suis pas allé vérifier sur Google je tente ça de mémoire... lol! :) (Smile)
