I can actually teach you a few things although my level is still not qualified to "teach". XD My subjects are rather narrow, there are so many things that I have little experience with thus Im little help outside of my field XD But Im still happy to interact with someone really cares.

I think you have potential, you get all the concept right, I mean you manage to do what you thought, its no where attractive but you did not make any mistakes. Now you have to manage the details. Detail does not mean you have to work on micro features, what I mean refine the result that matches your vision better, your skill level in the right time to start on the hard part, mainly find out what to do, before you can touch the details you need to know how to get to them, its not easy. I know Im still working on that.

Its how I felt after all these years of vane effort, some class of polish is only effective if build on top of previous effort, most dissing impression you see from a finished piece are not easily emulated by armature simply because the more apparent something the more background work you don;t see. For example if you spend 1 hr polishing, you gonna need 6+ hr on the foundation that makes the polishing effort effective. This is why fancy software or physical tools cannot help progress skill, it is for people who already learned skill. And most of time you still don't need em at all. I see you did everything with a simple pen, good job, you can try to use some professional tools and I bet it won't help, I use only about 10% features in my ageing software with 99% time its only line and eraser. For starters I recommend only use one pen, try to do as much as you can, once you explored the potential of this simple tool, advanced stuff comes to you automatically.
