sadly my laptop can't be save, (well technically It COULD be save but it would cost way too much) so I can't afford it.
Might as well buy a whole new laptop than trying to fix it
I was able to save my hard drive so I was able to get back all my files : )

Oh I see and I actually had something similar happen to me about 3 years ago *well it was a dumb thing I did haha* So whenever my old laptop I had at the time would be doing updates, it would often take a while, and sometimes, I could just easily skip them or shut down my laptop and everything would be fine. Well, one day I did that same thing and when I turned my laptop back on, I couldn't log on at all. I had to get it fixed and had all my files backed up on a flash drive, but lost some old videos that I hadn't saved as media files, but everything was fine after that. Then I got a new laptop months later during Christmas and I was so glad about that. xD I suffered using Internet Explorer for years on my old laptop *even when I had installed Chrome, my old laptop just kept freaking out every time I tried using it :/*
And that's good that you were able to get all your files back; definitely saving the hard drive was a good idea

At least you were able to fix your laptop which is a good thing, but oh god using internet explorer must have been painful especially since now everyone is use to having a better browser. Oh well i guess it's better than nothing
My own computer at the moment isn't that great but I can manage to survive. I just have to wait before I can play games on it. Hopefully when my bf build his gaming computer I'm going to get his old one

Yep hahah I was using IE for about 4 years when I had my Dell laptop and hadn't installed google chrome until like a few months before I started college. God, it was horrible. Yeah, I still had no idea why my old laptop at the time couldn't handle Chrome, like if I had 2 or more tabs going, my screen would start flickering between the web browser and my screensaver and I often couldn't click out of chrome and it freaked me out. O_o I honestly wonder if I had installed firefox instead, it wold have done the same thing probably. I was actually amazed my google drive didn't freak out during a presentation during my 1st year of college, since as I mentioned how my laptop couldn't handle chrome. But luckily, no more of that xD. And wow, that's nice that you get to use your bf's old one without spending money.

oh wow you must have been affraid of your laptop dying at any moment. Usually when the screen start flashing it's a pretty bad sign that something is going to die soon. X'DΒ
Yup ^^ Actually bought a thing to get internet on it and maybe a new graphic card but it's still less expensive than buying a whole new computer so it's always good to save some money : PΒ

I have no idea if it was dying or not, or from the times when it overheated, it might've affected my graphic card (?), I'll never know. I do remember when I was watching one of the sailor moon movies on dvd I have, that I think my laptop overheated while it was playing. It still works fine after 16 years haha, but the disc isn't as yellow as it was. :/ Laptop why?? And that's true! Having back up hard drives or just buying a new card like you said, is the best way to go.

Yeah, but true that at least that still works haha. I also need to fix an issue with installing InDesign onto my laptop because the program I downloaded from Adobe keeps restarting every time which I wish it wouldn't each time :/

I'm also looking for Indesign, I used to have it on my laptop but I lost all my Β Adobe programms, so I'm waiting for my brother to come by and reinstall every thing on my new computer, I just hope it will be strong enough to run those programs x'D

That sucks :c hopefully if he can put the new ones on for you like the cc 2015 is the most current version right now. Yeah I've had an Adobe creative cloud membership for like a month now I think ever since the 2 old versions of illustrator and indesign decided to stop working on me before a project was due *luckily I was able to get project done on time* but yeah indesign is the one that just won't install for me including some other programs I wanna try out so I'm gonna call adobe tomorrow if they can help with the issue.

Well I'm still having some issues with installing InDesign, so I think I'll just buy it sometime during the summer. I will keep trying to install since it always gets pretty close to finishing the installation until it restarts.Β

I'm paying for Creative Cloud and actually two weeks ago I finally got the problem fixed at my school's IT center. The guy did an Adobe CC clean for all the times I tried installing and uninstalling and it finally allowed me to install InDesign from creative cloud and now I'm able to use it. And just in time too for a final project haha
