G'day to you sir! Thanks for the watch Your metalwork is lovely, how long did it take you to make your personal armor with your logo on the front and the spine back?

You are very welcome for the watch! Ive been having fun browsing your gallery and favorites, and I may yet have to borrow a few as favorites of my own. As for my armor, I'm in the fifth year of that project now However, I do not work on it nearly as much as I should; many other projects come and go without me giving a thought to my armor. Also, it has proved to be one giant experiment in how to make a semi rigid and very heavy suit of maile fit, contour, and still allow freedom of movement (especially the sleeves, which are on the 3rd redesign). However I think I should be finished at last by the end of this year, at which point I will start all over with better material (I'm thinking titanium) better methods and a predetermined design, which I lacked the first go around. Feel free to visit my shop at [link] if you would like to see a few of the newer items I've made and haven't yet posted to deviant art. Thanks again for your interest and I hope to see more of your art soon!

So I must say your Hexlace necklace is incredible. Hands down favorite! I definitely vote that you make more medieval-looking neckpieces. 5 years on the armor!!! Wow, i admire your dedication. I'm taking a metals class at college right now and it is very interesting, I'm attempting to make a torc-inspired neckpiece for my first project. I never realized how long it takes to construct something properly out of metal!

I just saw your hexlace piece and was greatly impressed. I wonder how much it would cost to make a shirt out of that pattern. with steel of course. silver is way too expensive.

Hey thanks, I really appreciate the feedback. Honestly, I shudder to think of what it would cost for a suit made of these hexes, even with steel. The individual hexes take about an hour and a half to make, and there are only a handfull composing the necklace. If I had to guess I'd say a full suit, without sleeves, would probobly take nearly a year or more of steady work to complete, so I'd estimate a cost of somewhere between $15,000 to $20,000. I doubt anyone is going to commission one anytime soon. Once again thanks for the comment and I hope to hear from you again.
