A lot of people say that the convention.  It mix between anime and American cartooning.   I was going to experiment with Samurai Jack.  IDW kept with original format.  Which is great

Well I think you have something there it just needs to be refined a bit, I say watch youtube videos on drawing and painting. Plenty of resources out there to help you. Good luck to you with it though.
