# About me
I have been writing fiction since I was old enough to hold a pencil to paper, but didn't really get rolling into submitting material for publication until the early-to-mid 1990's. I typically write heroic fantasy, be it Sword & Sorcery, SciFi or Military action-adventure. I have had several short stories published since roughly 1997-98, have a novel-length book under my belt, and dabbled in publishing a local comic book (11 issues) which showcased West Michigan genre-related illustrators and writers. I am married with a small barbarian horde of three boys.# Comments

NP. I am an old D&D player myself and have a nice collection of metal miniatures in which I did the same...add quite some detail to them. My kids enjoy them now, more to play with like tin soldiers on a 4x8 table I set up for them down in the basement.
I was (and am still) a big Forgotten Realms fan. I dm'd games pretty much exclusively in that world, and still have a ton of 2nd ed modules and such. Good times. Good times.

Those were good times! We used to spend all of Saturday playing D&D, and our teenage children would even invite their friends over. Times change, but we still meet for about 3 hours every couple of weeks, to play D&D (3rd ed) with some of the old gang. Recently our oldest granddaughter has decided to join us.

That's awesome. I started to go to a local comic book store end of this past summer with my 10 and 13 yr old as there were new 4e games starting...with a story line in FR's Baldurs Gate of all places (YES!). We played for a few Wednesdays (when they met) but school started and it got too hectic to continue.
I am a writer so any and all of that stuff always fueled my imagination, and for the kids, it is a far more unique social activity than being glued by one's loneself to a video game. (Though I like some video games too...Elder Scrolls SKYRIM is a fave I still have loaded up and dabble within from time to time as it is a "open world" and more or less open storyline.)
I also have enjoyed reading D&D related books by Ed Greenwood, RA Salvatore and Troy Denning...oh, and Hickman and Wiess (sp?) DRAGONLANCE material.

I think playing games with your kids is wonderful. Although I prefer playing group games, solo games can be fun. Years ago I did completed one of the Final Fantasy games (with help & suggestions from my daughter & son-in-law). After things calm down, I hope you will be able to play with your kids again.
My daughter is also a writer, and I admire anyone who can write. I read the D&D and DRAGONLANCE book years ago, and they are still in our bookcase turning yellow with age. They were a good read!

Btw, went to a military aircraft museum yesterday. Talk about awe-inspiring and inspirational to the model building enthusiast in me.
Now I have to see if there a ground vehicle museum close by. I know there is one in Wisconsin just across the border of Illinois. Little far to drive for a day trip but...
Also, I talk to a publisher tomorrow about my own massive APC novella TRANSPORT tomorrow. Won't be quitting my day job if its published, but would still be very cool.

Crap man, I realized I kept putting sending the pictures to you off, and now I've moved away to college and couldn't take the pics of that diorama for you! So sorry!
I mean I could try to describe it as much as possible-it's not very detailed, as it was an earlier one of mine.
