Sorry; Christmas shopping ran late, then my show was on (cable box is far away from the computer).
Ugh, the fangirls/boys are attracted to him for the wrong reasons. I swear that in every appearance after SA2 (barring Sonic Battle) he is out of character. The crazies love his 'out of character self.' Also, he was definitely far from being a perfect immortal being, as he does posses several exploitable weaknesses. Don't get me wrong- I like him quite a bit, but just his SA2 self.

I understand the 'entire universes' thing. I'm also a big Kingdom Hearts fan, and in KH there are many 'worlds'. I have this entire set of laws written out that I apply to everything, dubbed my 'Kingdom Hearts logic'. I over-plan everything; case and point:
I have plans to do an SA2 rewrite. First thing I do; figure out the exact amounts of time between cutscenes, the blank spaces, and how many days the game took place in. I have gotten no further, as I'm now trying to think of interesting things to fill the gap with.

As for Blaze, I like her quite a lot too. She's a cat, a true action girl, and has her own super transformation. She has my respect.

Its fine, I'm more or less used to being kept waiting I don't really see how he acts "out of character", to be honest. Not trying to sound sarcastic, but I thought that he's been just having something called "character development" post SA2. But when it comes to key-traits of his personality, to me he always seem to possess these: A strong sense of identitiy, a big ego, a constant frown on his face, and high level of determination despite incredible odds that oppose him. The only real noticiable thing I see that changed was how many times he said/shouted "Maria", and his initially desire for revenge against humanity in SA2. Maybe perhaps you can explain to me what I might be missing here?

"Kingdom Hearts Logic"... I got similar logic for some of my fan fictions, but I never gave the logic itself a name, either because I'm a lazy git or I'm brain-dead when it comes to thinking up original names for things. And SA2 rewrite? I never heard of people re-writing stories of Sonic games before... and probably no other series I consider myself a fan of. Or maybe I have but I don't remember.

I liked Blaze because she felt relatable to me in several ways when I first got my hands on Sonic Rush, so I easily found her a more interesting character than Sonic, Tails, Eggman and the other characters that appeared in the game. And yes, I also like her because she kicks butt (not sure if you got a problem with swearing, so in case you do I'll try to avoid using any kind of profanity while talking to you).

Well, the Maria thing, they definitely made him more angsty for a short stint there. I think in Sonic X they made needlessly violent at some instances, but otherwise on model.- Then they took the worst of the Sonic X characterization, turned up the angst, gave him guns because Sega didn't wanted to give them to Sonic, threw in a backstory that makes me want to torture whoever thought it a good idea, and from this we get the terrible game known as Shadow the Hedgehog.
Biggest mistake ever.
I could nitpick for a few of the more recent games, but it's not worth it.

Some people do rewrites for fun. i more or less am interested in all that missing time. I've seen a few, but normally people never follow through, or they twist things to their desires..

I absolutely loved Blaze in Sonic Rush. I played that game until I had all S ranks on the stages. I wish I could play her story again, but i'm not deleting my data.

You can cure around me. I thought to call her 'kick ass' earlier, but didn't know if you'd take offense.

Say, what's your opinion on Honey the Cat and Fang the Sniper?

I honestly think people would've been even more ticked if it was Sonic that was using guns, to be honest. I just try to accept games I play for what they are, and only complain when I find certain things absolutely unbearable (that rarely happens though, since normally I'm quite tolerant and patient, but there ARE those very few games that just made me ragequit due to how ridiculous certain things about them are. My prime example for the Sonic series is Sonic and the Secret Rings. Its not that I find the plot or other tings behind the game stupid, but the controls made the game absolutely unworkable for me. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't do certain actions with the Wiimote even with the on-screen promps right in front of me, and it frustrated me enough to the point where I stopped playing it, never even bothering to finish the tutorial levels. I haven't played the game since).

Ha, I'm the same way. I played the game to where I could get the highest ranks I could with her (most of which range between As and Ss), and as much as I'd like to play her story again, I don't like the idea of having to delete all my data to do so. That's why I bought several other copies of Sonic Rush, in case I ever want to replay the story modes again

Alrighty, just wanted to make sure. Nah, I'm usually pretty fine around profanity, unless people use it way too much to the point where I can't take a thing they say to me seriously. But I will agree, she's kick-ass. Chances are she's always gonna be my favorite character in the series.

I think Honey is pretty cool. Her ears inspired the design of my Fursona's (in case you don't know, a fursona is basically like an avatar of yourself, except in animal form, and it can be either anthromorphic or like actual animals) ears (Lloyd the Cat. He's the cat character you can see on my ID. He was originally supposed to be me as a Sonic character, but I changed him into a fursona so I could use him in more things besides Sonic). I also find the fact that she's technically the first feline character to appear in a Sonic game, despite being cut from the final version of Sonic the Fighters. And judging from her face-sprites in that game, including the ones where her eyes are shaped like hearts, I imagine that she'd be a fun, playful character. I find it a shame that she hasn't made an appearance in any kind of Sonic media since Sonic the Fighters, though. It kinda feels like any potential as a character she might've had is being put to waste...

As for Fang, I like that guy. He's pretty amusing in the Archie Sonic comics, especially in a recent Sonic Universe story arc called "Treasure Team Tango." Sometimes when I think about Fang I also think about the people who complained about being able to use guns in Shadow the Hedgehog. This is funny to me because technically Fang is the first character in the series to use a firearm of some kind (e.g. Sonic the Fighters), and yet no one really seemed to complain about that back then. Shadow the Hedgehog controversy aside, like Honey the Cat I'm also a tad bit disappointed that I haven't seen him make any significant game appearances in a while, and it feels that his potential is also being wasted, at least in the games.

I think the whole controversy over Shadow having a gun vs Fang having one is just a war between those who think Shadow is beyond them, and those who think it makes him cool.

I never really got into the comics much. I know it's become an entirely separate universe from the games with tons more characters.
I did however think of bringing Fang and Honey back if I ever get to writing the fics I have planned.
How well do you think they might work with each other, you know, if the opportunity arose?

Probably. I'd find it sad if Sonic Team ever introduced guns that shoot rockets/lasers, only to see people complain about those, considering that such weapons have been used by at least Eggman since literally the first Sonic game. My only problem with the guns in Shadow the Hedgehog was that they were poorly implimented. I always got much better results just using the homing attack.

I like the comics for its expansive, darker universe and story. The team behind the comics is pretty creative with what they do, IMO. I haven't read many Sonic the Comic (the Fleetway comic) issues, though, so I can't make an accurage judgement on those. And I've seen all the TV shows and movies.

You mean Fang and Honey? Not sure. I always thought that Honey was the kind of character who would probably be something like a pop star, not the kind who'd be into robbery or treasure hunting. IDK, but she kinda reminds me of Mina Mongoose from the Archie comics. But... I suppose Honey would be more carefree and spazzy, while Nack would be the more serious of the 2, and Honey's personality would probably conflict with Fang's, leading the two to argue very frequently. Regardless of these differences, the 2 usually manage to get their hands on SOMETHING valuable, until Sonic and co. interfere and make their jobs a living nightmare.

I was never too crazy about the comics, but they've definitely got a deep, involved story going on. It seems like the games have given up entirely on that, which I find sad.
Actually I think the reason I'm not crazy about the Archie comics is that I don't really like Sally Acorn at all. I'm not really sure why though.

Maybe Honey would be a little spastic, but I get the sense that she might be a bit mischievous/unpredictable as well. It is believed that in Sonic the Fighters they were implementing an attack where Honey would wink, and then a heavy weight would crush the opposing character. That sounds at least a little like a dirty tactic if I ever did see one.

I also find that sad. I honestly see no problem with the games expanding their own universe, like other Sonic media has done. I thought that chance could actually happen with Sonic Chronicles, but the lack of any further news of any kind is beginning to make me lose hope. I didn't think Sonic Chronicles was a perfect game by any means, but it was definitely fun and good at what it does, and that a sequal would've been a great opportunity to improve both the gameplay and story and as a result possibly make itself as something on par with the Sonic Adventure games. But like I just said, the chances of that happen look pretty bleak right now...
I never really understood why so many people despise Sally, despite the amount of good traits as a character she possesses. I think it might have something to do with misinterpretation of sorts. Allow me to explain (just keep in mind that I'm not saying that you're wrong for disliking the character. I'm just merely stating my thoughts on Sally's negative reception in the Sonic fanbase in general): In both the comics and the SatAM cartoon, people often seem to think of Sally as a bitch, especially towards Sonic, but often I see a lot of these same people forget if not outright ignore the fact that the Sonic portrayed in the Archie comics and SatAm is usually more cocky than his game counterpart. So as a result, Sally often has to act like a bitch to Sonic because that's usually the only way she can get through to his head. I personally think that in the Archie comics Sonic's cockiness has improved somewhat over the years, but not low enough to where he can be on par with his game counterpart. Another common reason I seem to see people give when they explain their hatred for Sally is that they seem to think "Anti-SonAmy" when someone even mention Sally's name, and people who're supporters AND fanatics of SonAmy often bring out the guns and pick the character apart and label her with whatever they can throw on her, which ends up resulting in said character sounding much worse than what she really is. Basically, they're only hating the character because she's not Amy Rose.

I do acknowledge that there are actually some LEGIT reasons for disliking Sally. Maybe you just don't like her personallity. Maybe you have a justified reason for not liking her relationships with certain characters. Maybe you don't like her because you feel that she's getting more attention than other good characters should be getting. Or perhaps you just aren't a fan of the continuities she stars in, so naturally you may feel the same about most or all the other characters that're also featured. But because I often see Sally haters only possess one or both of the things I mentioned above, I normally have a hard time taking these people seriously. I mean, if you're gonna hate on something/someone, wouldn't it be better to have a reason that actually makes sense instead of one that's unjustified and/or total bullshit that they themselves or other people made up? It'd be like disliking a song you never heard.

Somehow I can easily seeing her being the kind of character that would use a dirty trick if absolutely necessary. Kinda like Rouge, only Honey might actually look funnier pulling dirty tricks. But I'm curious to see what kind of personality Sonic Team would give Fang if they decided to bring him back in a future title.

Well I could care less about the fate of SonAmy, and I'm not about to defend Sonic on this one. Perhaps it's due to my aversion to royalty (even Natalia from Tales of the Abyss gets this from me). Mostly though I think it may be what you said about her getting too much of the attention. It's inevitable though, seeing as who she is.

I heard somewhere that Sega gave the excuse that Fang was 'too close in character to Rouge' to bring back.

I mean, she's one of the comic's main characters whose been around since the beginning. But alas, even though I like Sally, I would prefer to see Blaze more. Where shipping is involved, the Sonic video games really aren't the place for it (seeing as the story has come to a standstill), and the comic pairs are non-comparable to the video games seeing as it's a separate universe.

Blaze is definitely my favorite princess as well. I mean, if it wasn't said, I never would have guessed her to be a princess. Bonus points for being the Sol emeralds' guardian.

Agreed. My only problem with the games, in regards to Blaze, is that they haven't included her in canon story in very many games since the Sonic Rush series (Sonic Generations is probably the only exception, and I'm happy because of that. But I'm irritated as well, because the writers for that game have added even MORE confusion to Blaze's true origins by having her game profile state that she's the Blaze from the Rush series, but THEN make her say an optional comment about Crisis City that basically says "I never thought I'd see this place again", which serves as a nod to her Sonic 06 story. So, writers of Sonic Generations, which backstory are we supposed to be actually going with?). Its not like she's a bad or annoying character by any means (at least in my opinion), and she's got a decent number of fans, so I don't see why they can't include her in canon story a little more often instead of simply being an unlockable character for multiplayer modes or something. Besides, SEGA needs to clear up the controversy regarding her backstory themselves, because I would like to know for certain where her true origins lie. Although most of her subsequent appearances since Sonic Rush have used her Rush background, and I think it can be assumed that it is indeed the correct one, Sonic Generations really added more to the problem than fixed it IMO and I'm beginning to get tired of guessing whether I'm right or not.

I heard someone raise the theory that the Rush Blaze is the future Blaze who sealed herself in another dimension with Iblis, and therefore was unaffected by the time reset.
I do wish Sega would clear that up too though. I doubt they will however.

I've heard that theory countless times now, and I could once again pick apart and point out all the flaws that it has and how those very same flaws make it improbable in my eyes, but I don't know if I should just stop wasting my time trying to do due to the sheer amount of people who believe in it regardless of what anyone else has to say to the contrary. I seriously don't see how some people really don't think some of these things through...
If they don't, then I'll be very irritated with them. However, I will try to cope and just go with the backstory I think is the most probable.
