*sigh*
so last night I watched a bunch of movies since we're getting snow up the wahzoo. So here is my critique of the movies I watched.
*****- Excellent
****- Very Good
***- OK
**- Not so OK
*- I wasted my time
--Harold and Maude--
(1971)
This is the story of a 20 year old guy who is obsessed with death and he tries to kill himself multiples times, and his mother could care less. Then he meets Maude who has a love of life. At first he doesn't know what to think of her, and then slowly they become friends, and slowly he realizes that life is worth living. Then he falls in love with Maude, which is creepy since Maude is almost 80, but the point of that is to show that love can take on any form. And on Maude's 80th birthday, he is going to propose, but then he finds out that she took pills that day that would kill her by midnight. He tries to save her, but it's too late, and he leaves behind his morbid life and just loves life.
**** - Only four stars because Harold and Maude have sex, and that's a little creepy. And since it was 1971, and the guy was cute then, but now he's old and ugly, that ruins it a little.
--The Terminal--
(2004)
Tom Hanks portrays a Russian man who is coming to America, but on his trip there, his country breaks out into war, and has no real government. This makes him not be able to get into the United States, so he can fufill a promise for his father. He has to wait in the airport until his country stops fighting (which takes nine months). And you see how he meets people, becomes friends with people, falls in love, and adjusts to living in an airport.
**** - It's length wasn't a nescessity.
--Peter Pan--
(2003)
Yes, I have seen this movie multiple multiple times, but I can't stress to you enough what an amazing movie it is. True, it is very childish in the beginning, but as the story progresses, it becomes this great little love story. And you see all the ups and downs of Peter and Wendy's relationship. From when they're dancing, to yelling, to fighting, to kissing, and to good-byes. It's so great, and I love it with all my heart!
***** - Don't underestimate the Pan, bitches.
--Wicker Park--
(2004)
Josh Hartnett portray Matt in this movie where his girl has vanished from his life, and he's trying to find her. But then, when he thinks he found her, another girl shows up saying her name is Lisa. He doesn't know whether to trust her or not. Then you find out that this Lisa is dating Matt's best friend, and her real name is Alex. Alex tries to hidfe her true identity, but Matt eventually finds out. And then he finds his real Lisa.
**** - Some parts were confusing, but you see Josh Hartnett without his shirt multiple times...

"How am I deficent?"
"You're just a boy..."
"A lot of people enjoy being dead. But they are not dead, really. They're just backing away from life. *Reach* out. Take a *chance*. Get *hurt* even. But play as well as you can. Go team, go! Give me an L. Give me an I. Give me a V. Give me an E. L-I-V-E. LIVE!
Otherwise, you got nothing to talk about in the locker room."
"You better be careful. You know those flight attendents ain't like regular women, Viktor. They're flying back and forth between all those time-zones kinda messes with their biological clock or something. always ready for sex. Why do you think they can't stop smiling?"
"When you see something from afar, you develop a fantasy. But when you see it up close, 9 times out of 10, you wish you hadn't."
"Wendy: Surely you must have felt love once for something... or someone.
Peter: Never. Even the sound of it offends me.
[Wendy tries to touch his face, and he jumps away]
Peter: Why do you have to spoil everything? We have fun, don't we? I taught you to fly and to fight. What more could there be?
Wendy: There is so much more.
Peter: What? What else is there?
Wendy: I don't know. I guess it becomes clearer when you grow up.
Peter: Well, I will not grow up. You can not make me."
"Captain Hook: She was leaving you. Your Wendy was leaving you. Why should she stay? What have you to offer? You are incomplete. Let's take a look into the future, shall we? You fly to Wendy's nursery and... what's this? The window's closed.
Peter: I'll open it.
Captain Hook: I'm afraid the windows barred.
Peter: I'll call out her name.
Captain Hook: She can't hear you.
Peter: No.
Captain Hook: She can't see you.
Peter: Wendy.
Captain Hook: She's forgotten all about you.
Peter: Stop it. Please. Stop it."
