No, I blocked him because he promised not to be contentious anymore (which includes his anti-American rants) and he broke his promise. I had already given him a second chance to be nice and he wasn't.

I won't unblock you; I can't live with the suspense of wondering when you might let your grudge surface again and attack and be contentious. Jeez it really has been a horrible end of the year huh? Right after Christmas someone very close to me lost their dad to a stroke. 18 years old and she had to make the decision to pull the plug. And today I found out one of my dogs died, it's just a horrible year all round, sorry to hear yours ended badly.

I'm really just waiting for my quarter to end, it's starting to make me very sick. That's not taking into account the politics. A lot of teachers have banned those conversations from the classroom because there's no way to keep it civil anymore.

For me this quarter ending means time to do other things, like sleep and generally exist as a human being. 11 weeks of doing pure homework everyday I don't have school is not what life is supposed to be. (We have this teacher, wonderful in all regards but she uppercuts us with work out the wazoo, made only more infuriating when other students don't do the work, here I am being wonderful as all hell spending at least three days a week on one class and my other classes are crying the corner like I'm a neglectful parent paying attention to only one of my kin, oh the humanity!)

I try not to load on the work, but I can't cut out any more than I already have. I hate grading busywork. I have switched to this new portfolio way of grading; it's a lot less stressful for both student and teacher because to get their grade all they have to do is finish the assigned writing process work completely and correctly and then present a portfolio at the end of the semester as their best work and evidence of their improvement as a writer. I like it and I think they do too.
