Thanks!
No, I haven't. Considered, yes, but I fear it's too niche to be a successful product. I'd love to model a RK-62 e.g. as a freebie if I just had time to do it
Really nice model btw! Have you finished it yet? That's the exact model I used back in the day when I was in the army

Thanks!
You could consider making a set of the RK-62, GALIL, and R4 familyΒ ; )
I didn't finish my (SAKO version) RK yet because I couldn't find accurate dimensions for the stock, the flash hider, and the gasblock/front sight.
The parts I've made based on images alone look allright, but I'd like to do better than that.
I did model a steel magazine with the typical loop on the bottom plateΒ though, I think it looks better than that plastic one.
Cheers!

Yeah, a wider set would probably work better, but I still doubt it would gain enough interest in the US market (at least few years ago the US market was larger than the rest of the world combined).
But, as said, I'd love to make a RK-62 one day (even as a freebie) as well as Suomi KP-31 and the M39 rifle. The last one I have actually already made in the early days of my modelling "career", but the mesh quality is a mess.
The parts you've made look really good, so I'm not sure what's to improve!
And I agree that the steel mag looks better than the plastic one. To me the latter has always looked ugly, but my pov might be skewed, because they came in use a couple of years after my time in the army

Hmmmm. Just watching a documentary about the Sutton Hoo Saxon Hord discovery, and it struck me that Saxon Helms looked absolutely amazing, and look so fitting with some of your swords, which made me wonder, have you ever considered making a Saxon style helmet with the amazing face masks?

Yep, actually many times during the years, and medieval/fantasy helmets in general too. Back in the day my lack of modelling skills was the obstacle, but now it's the rigging that pretty much keeps me from making them (I've had less than desirable test results...). But, never say never, so I very well may one day pull myself together and actually make some

Well now days the automatic rigging programs like Daz can do is much much better than even a few years ago! If you ever do succumb to the temptation of trying one, I for one will be super eager to try it

Well, the attempt I made was with G2M about a year ago and I ran into problems with bones/groups/weight maps in the lower back of the helmet I couldn't fix, no matter what (everything seemed to be set properly, but somehow it just didn't work). But, I used a barbuta I had made several years ago as a prop for M4 and was a bit over-sized (too long/high), so it may have been the source of the problems (and probably was). Therefore I may be willing to make another attempt one day

Fingers crossed, the Saxon battle masks on there helmet just screamed "this looks like something Porsimo would build" and for some reason no one's ever really seemed to do helmets of that type they all seem to be things from fantasy movies rather than the exquisite work from actual history!
