# About me

I was born in Cali, Colombia on the 1st of September in 1961. From a middle class family, my father was an accountant for a company in the city and my mother would stay home and take care of the family. From an early age my parents observed my interest in drawing and enrolled me into a local art school. Attending art classes further fueled my interest in painting and drawing which quickly developed into a daily practice. In 1983, I attended the Departmental Institute of Fine Arts and under the tutelage of great artists I learned techniques in painting, drawing, and sculpting. The inspirations for my art comes from the traditional greats in the Renaissance and Surrealistic periods such as Rembrandt, Dali, Da Vinci, and many others. I consider myself a multifaceted artist with distinct pictorial trends always searching for new forms of expressing my art. As my life changes my art is constantly transforming into something new.
