I had a quick question about working on a resin blank. Do you recommend springs or elastic so that the jaw snaps back?

Well both r good! I choose elastic cause its quite, the springs can sometimes make a squeaky noise buuuuuut the springs may last longer. ^,,^ hope that helps!!!
