Thank you very much for the awesome pattern!
I used it here: fav.me/d8jtbj6
I have one note, though: please note wich part of the legs shows in the direction of the body and which part to the foot. I messed up the hind legs, before I figured it out

Thanks for the awesome pattern! In case you're still interested/looking for pics of your pattern realized by other people, here is my version windspiel.tumblr.com/post/1100β¦ I used a synthetic suede that had a a random pattern of shiny "patches" which reminded me of toothless' scales. The eyes are embroidered and the nose area has been slightly modified from your original pattern. Again, thank you! I think you did a great job with this pattern.

Hello! First, thank you for posting this pattern! It was a real adventure and a challene - I've never made a plushie before. The legs threw me a bit, but I got them to work in the end (I think).
I used black vinyl, because it feels the way I think Toothless' skin would feel like, rather than something fluffier and more fabric-like, and sewed him together by hand. (I don't do enough sewing to have a sewing machine. They're expensive; I'd rather buy more books. ...mostΒ purchases in my life get run through that equation.)
You can see it here: le-letha.deviantart.com/art/Toβ¦.Β I mentioned your dA ID and included a link to your page, but I'm not sure if it registered with the system as a 'mention' that you'd be notified of. So here I am.
Thanks again!
Le'letha

I've always wanted to have a Toothless plush, but the world was all, NOPE.
And official toys are ugly.
No one on DA sells their plushies.
But then I come across here, and this is just so perfect.
I'm making one ASAP!!
It'll also help me with my plush-making skills, I plan on making a plush of Prince Dreambert.

Fantastic pattern. With Ikea furniture, you often finish with extra parts left over - and I did the same with part Y. Oops! But otherwise, Toothless looks great, and he's a great size for conserving stuffing for other projects. Judging by the number of episodes of Downton Abbey I watched while making it, it took me 21 hours to finish (wow - a lot for such a small plushie). Thanks for providing the pattern for free! Here is my final result: [link]

your plush is so adorabel what kind of stuffing did you use to make him poseabel (sorry for the bad english I'm danish)

I used microfiber pillow stuffing (tiny polyester threads - looks a bit like cotton, but it's machine washable).
Also, I made sure not to fill him more than what's absolutely necessary. You can then squeeze parts to remove the stuffing temporarily to pose him.
Don't worry about the english. Everybody would understand what you're trying to say

I have a problem I can't make him stand his leg keep poiting out to the sides can you help me please?

I think you may have too much stuffing. It needs to not be completely filled if you want to pose it.

Thanks for offering to help. I did end up using a different pattern (your pattern is fine, my printer was just stupid about printing it for some reason)but I may still message for some assistance.

Youre awesome!!! This account was exactly what I was looking for! Ive been wanting my own toothless plushie for a while. Im not the best at sewing, but ive done several small pieces and im willing to put long hard hours into it. Is there a specific fabric you'd suggest? Something soft but sturdy yet inexpensive? And how much do you estimate this costing? (im not sure if you have a journal on it since those questions yet, since im using my phone. If you do, ill either see them later or youll get back to me with the answers. lol) thank you for posting all of this on this account! Youre awesome!

You're absolutely welcome, and good luck! Now, let's get going!
Fabric? I used black fleece - it's fairly inexpensive, it doesn't rip. A downside to it may be that it easily gets dusty and hair seems to cling to it. This is a big con, if you ask me. In general, I suggest any thin, but durable fabric - could even be denim if you want.
Since this is the first real thing I've ever sown, needless to say, I'm not an expert in fabrics. I'm a guy and not really into sewing. I made this solely because I wanted a Toothless plush.
As for the cost, about $10-20 depending on the fabric. I no more than 1Β½ x 0.5 metres of fleece (plus an old yellow rag for the eyes).
There are a number of tips and tricks, I've come up with based on previous feedback. If you need any help, feel free to write, and I'll try to help withhin a few days.
Regards,
PT

Why, thank you.
Actually it's not my real birthday - I made this as a throwaway account for hosting the pattern and just chose a random date.

That is superbly awesome. I sew my wings on the inside, but apart from that it looks almost identical to mine.

ShortyLego In reply to ProjectToothless [2012-02-14 00:50:56 +0000 UTC]
thanks!! and yeah, it was a lil too hard to sew the wings inside... the ears are a lil smaller too... but the material was extremele hard to work with.. plus i think i printed out the pattern smaller than the original

makes sense. It still looks darn awesome.
It'll be the subject of much envy, I predict, unless you keep it secret and just for yourself.

wanted to get out and do other things + remove personal information.
I'll leave this account up, but I'll probably abandon it at some point soon.
