Did you try out the new group's function for the club it's cool! It's under prints and then find groups. To convert your group you have to go to helpdesk, type in group and find converttogroup.

I've read the article a few times trying to find anything about how to enter the contest, but I must be missing something. So I sent the link to my essay by note. I'm not sure what else to do.

I've been running a series of literature news feature here: [link] but I kind of lack prose contributions. If you submit a new journal, would you please pimp my journal link to let your members who like to have a feature of their proud works there? Thanks for your consideration.

We do live, but it's struggling at the moment. I'm having to balance ProsePlease with RL matters, and you know how things like that always end up.
Doesn't mean I will let it die though Prompts will still be coming and I'm hoping to bring our little community closer together with activities.

I've been wanting to upload a couple of my stories onto deviant but I'm not sure how to go about it, any chance of some advice?

vampbabe In reply to XgoogieX [2008-03-21 00:36:23 +0000 UTC]
Dear XgoogieX,
On your page, look in the top right hand corner. You will see a button called "Submit Deviation". Click on that, select the category called Literature, then Prose and then whichever genre suits your stories. Best of luck.
Yours truly,
*vampbabe

Thanks for helping me, but it still won't let me upload the file, Is there a certain way you have to do it? It's just a regular word document file.
π: 0 β©: 1
vampbabe In reply to XgoogieX [2008-03-21 22:56:30 +0000 UTC]
Dear XgoogieX,
You can't upload a word document file. You have to copy the text in your word file and on the page called "Submit Art", you have to click the box that says "Add Text" (in the section called "Which File?") and copy & paste your text there. Then you use html formatting to make it look the way you want.
Yours truly,
*vampbabe

Dearest Members,
It's so easy to forget that ProsePlease is a club run entirely by volunteers who do the best they can, helping the cause of literature on DA. Behind Administration are people like you; they come with their own backgrounds, problems and opinions. None of us claim to be perfect. We are all simply here for the love of prose. Before you judge us, remember that we are all doing the best we can.
If we have made poor decisions, take a moment to consider from our point of view. Many of us spend months, some even years, trying to encourage activity in the chatroom and the club. We invest a lot of personal time, energy and thought into making ProsePlease better for its members and guests. Yet so often, people just drop in, use the facilities & sections available only to disappear or give little in return. Is it fair to criticise the efforts of the staff if you don't set aside time to contribute to ProsePlease?
You are all entitled to your views and opinions. Frankly, we would like to hear more of them as often, ProsePlease members are very quiet. But have a bit of space in your heart for the kindness of the staff, who donate much of themselves so that you can enjoy the benefits of this club.
Yours truly,
*vampbabe /Demi.

It is fair to criticize, because without the members you don't have a club. If the members don't like it, then the club doesn't do well. I know it is a volunteer position, and so is being a member.
I also remember donating a year for this place. I was willing to continuously donate year after year to keep this club a subscribed member to be able to use the extra features dA provides for subscribers. I'm not asking for it back, because at the time I thought it was worth while, but obviously that wasn't taken into consideration when I was removed.

Would you like a chance to present your case with say, an impartial person present? The other founder, *AxDude doesn't really know either you or ~Remagoen that well. So unlike me, he won't have pre-biased opinions. Therefore, both you and ~Remagoen can present your positions before *AxDude and see what he thinks? I am happy to step aside and let *AxDude review what has happened, without my input or influence.

I would have liked to get my wife interested in this club, because I know the founders and most of the admin are great people and will work with her to get better at writing. However, because of what I think is a bad judgment call of letting ~Remagoen have control of the chat, I will not suggest it to my wife.
Remagoen is, for lack of a better, more colorful word, a jerk. He has no sense of self-control. I've been controlling myself quite well, just by stating why I wont talk to him and avoiding all confrontation with him completely. I absolutely have no forgiveness for him, because of the massive explosion of hate he had a while ago, and how the embers are still burning within.
This club is a great club, and I wish I could participate in the ink-shares, but now I am trying to create a family. As I said, the club is great. The chat is the downfall to this club. For a time it was a good place to hang out, but now has just gone sour, because the only moderation I see is from Remagoen.
I know this is not my club, but I sincerely feel that it needs to change.

I'm in there quite a bit at night, and I've talked to Remagoen quite a few times, but I've never had the chance to meet you.
I just joined the staff as a chat moderator, so this "falling out" probably happened way before I joined up, but I wish I was there at the time so I could help resolve this issue a little bit.
Even if I was there, this seems to be more of a personal situation between yourself and Remagoen, anyway, so I hope you guys get it solved.
