Hey there, I find that there is higher traffic on instagram on the personal level than on dA, and it just feels easier to message, like, share, and comment. One big factor I think is that you can reach people who are not artists on IG whereas almost everyone here is an artist, and that limits your audience. On IG, I see a lot more short videos, work in progress pictures, and stories. It's also easier to get to know people through random everyday posts and stories, not just posts of finished artworks. If you are just beginning to use social media for your art, I do recommend giving IG a go. DA is a great place to get started and it feels more comfortable sharing art here, but if you really want your audience to grow, IG is the way to go. You could try both at the same time and see which you prefer
