*Jeez, I usually don't look at and fav so much art, even less dinosaurs, nowadays, sorry for spamming you w/ notifs.
What still, every now and then, makes me come back is my work on and love for those carnivore sauropode looking thunder lizards the movie Dragonheart replaced my childhood mania with.
Dragons are more grown-up anyway (and saving 14yrs Sangson some teenage trauma by allowing for effing up - through all the annoying evidence to their appearance granting an inconveniently close guess as to what they're supposed to look like).
So I got caught off guard and into a little collecting frenzy.
What I actually came to point out is the why, though, not the how - Dude, your work makes me think of James Gurney a lot, and in the good way.
So, since the dude, arguably one of the most knowledgeable and skilled masters of nature and science illustration, was both the last major influence in my childhood dinosaur fandom and first delicate seedling of my later aspirations to pursue art as a career, and only gaining weight in that matter, so, since the dude means that to me and it's actually not too far fetched to speculate on you being aware of Gurney and some of his work in the first place, I thought I'd share my impressions of the matter as a means of saying something like, I don't know,
"Sick shit dude, some masterful artwork you're producing there, that's why I fav'ed so much lol"

I kinda neglected the borderline unhealthy obsession in dinosaurs a little bit, from a while before dA ever since -

Well, my 8Β½ yr old self, the mighty Iguanodon I used to be when I was too lazy to run.
(And therefor be a Raptor, obviously, and even more alienated with a grown Sangson that could barely recall a wall-of-fame of maybe 20 dinosaur names max. )
As I gotta admit the 33 yr old me actually kinda digs the sacrifice 14 yrs Sangson chose to leave Dinosaurs rest a bit, simply put for ways and reasons of doing it -.-
As much as my active doing was required. I was an eighthgrader with not a lot more exercise and discipline as from the long hours...school.
Blame it on my ADD, and I do, my pathologic boredom made it at least why I started drawing and kept kinda doing it. Unfortunately, (my future) craft for the most parts took place in school - at home I had video games and books.
And then one or two cancelled regular hours of school, the cute surrogate (in all the 14 yrs girls taste, at least - although, good for them) decided to take us to the one lecture theatre classroom and just let us watch a cool film instead stupid math.
Needless to say, 'twas the youngest, and music-, teacher of the tiny school and for all studenthood he was definitely the coolest teacher. Anyway, all day.
Blowin' it up, sorry.
However, the film he decided us freshlybaked teenagers had to see did, in addition to girls, Donkey Kong 64 and some other things cement my betrayal to ancient thunder lizards - to have thunder lizards of scientifically unsuggested age claim their throne, for that film was Dragonheart, and I was an impatient, lazy teen minus learning resources who had drawn the one hundredth identical Raptor or Rex without ever getting better at drawing dinosaurs, who, though, were basically dragons without any annoying historical facts about how they looked or could be created.
Wow, what a bunch of words.
Ok, tl;dr:
Sorry I got my monthly event of actually looking at art on dA and reacting to dinosaurs once the pinups are checked, and your dinosaurs at that.
And here, around the end of an unneccessarily long, detailed wall-of-text discouraging any attempt of reading it, at the end of this I shall put the actual catch just in case you actually happen to read it or this section; it's why I stuck with your gallery instead of other paleo art: the last big influence in my dino-fan live and kinda the first seedling of my later idea to maybe pursue art as a career.

Yeah, so I thought I'd write a short essay on why, actually, I'm not that much of a Dinosaur enthusiast anymore - in order to explain the mild annoyance that appreciation may bring along in the internet age (suddenly, awesome paintings! Fyi. We apparently have a juvenile megalodon skeleton. Itβs partial and a juvenile but the skull shape is visible and it reminds me of a more robust great white or a basking shark head. Its currently on display in ZΓΌrichβs Sauriersmuseum
