Also yesterday I got a brand new PC to play games like Squad, Mordhau and The Isle. These were unplayable thanks to crashing in my older PC (I still have it tough since my Skyrim saves and mods are there).

I have seen you around a lot in the paleo community, and I have seen about your continuing support of Bolsonaro. I'll try to say this in the nicest way possible.
I'm not going to get political. Forget about anything else about him or his policies.
Paleontology, and its community, is intrinsically linked with our better understanding of our planet Earth and, by extension, preservation of it.
Before I make my point I want to say I'm not trying to talk over you, after all you are the one who actually lives in Brazil, not me.
But I ask you this: Why would you continue to support a man who intends to strip away protections from the Amazon rainforest, an area responsible for not only one tenth of Earth's biodiversity, but 20 percent of the oxygen on the planet. Destroying that is not only horrible for the ecosystem there, but with such a huge source of oxygen destroyed, it screws up the entire planet for everybody, human and otherwise. Not to mention the groups of people living there whose homes will be destroyed and whose lives will be turned upside down by deforestation in the Amazon.
After all that detailed talk, what it all boils down to is this: Since you're present in and appreciative of a community directly linked with natural history, why do you continually support someone who's greatly invested in destroying it.
I hope I haven't come across as hostile, but I've been meaning to ask this since you seem like a genuinely nice person.

It is always nice to have an opportunity to have a civil debate, so let me say thank you already. And don't worry, after so many debates, some civil and other not so civil, I can pretty much smell when someone wants to be aggressive.
Before I get deeper in the subject, I need to warn you that Bolsonaro, regardless of what he does, is already the main victim of fake news in Brazil. This happened way before he was even a candidate, but now it is getting worse so I would highly recommend you double, triple, quadruple check what you read about him. With that said: the news of Bolsonaro wanting to actually strip away protections to the Amazon Rainforest turns out to be another example of fake news because he does not want to strip them away, he wants those fighting illegal deforestation to better deal with the illegal equipment they take from the criminals. The issue was that the law authorizes them to destroy the vehicles when there is no way of actually taking the vehicles to a location where the government can take possession of them, but destroying the vehicles was appearently turning out to be the rule and not the exception. Bolsonaro now wants to have more strict rules regarding this aspect, and the try hard opposition is distorting this in order to attack him.
I understand that most of the sources do not claim what I claimed, but that is because most of the mainstream media in Brazil are biased. Now if you take a look at this one ultimosegundo.ig.com.br/politi… the picture changes. You can put it on Google translator, but allow me to highlight some important aspects that many sources ignore:
" *O ministro do Meio Ambiente, Ricardo Salles, disse neste domingo que vai determinar ao Ibama a elaboração de uma instrução normativa para definir as situações em que máquinas, veículos e equipamentos poderão ser destruídos durante operações de fiscalização do órgão.*
*Segundo Salles, os veículos foram queimados durante a operação deflagrada na semana passada. O próprio governador do estado teria enviado ao ministro as fotos dos equipamentos queimados.* "
TRANSLATION: "Environment Minister Ricardo Salles said on Sunday that he was going to determine to IBAMA that a normative instruction be developed to define the situations in which machinery, vehicles and equipment could be destroyed during the agency's inspection operations.
According to Salles, the vehicles were burned during the operation started last week. The state's own governor would have sent the minister the photos of the burned equipment."
" *Eu mandei checar e vi que o local era próximo à estrada de asfalto. Ou seja, não tinha impedimento nenhum de levar as máquinas embora.*
*O ministro disse que a destruição de máquinas em operações de fiscalização deveria ser uma exceção, mas acabou virando regra, na avaliação dele, o que seria uma arbitrariedade* "
TRANSLATION: I had it checked and I saw that the place was near the asphalt road. That is, there was no impediment to taking the machines away.
So as it turns out, the Bolsonaro Government does not want to strip away protections from the Amazon Rainforest, it just wants the fight against illegal deforestation to be done on a practical way, but for Brazil's try hard leftists if you do not do it exactly the way they want then you want to destroy everything they fight for. I hope this better explains this issue, wich as many things turns out to be way more complex than many think it is.

There seems to be a bit of a language barrier as expected. I'm finding a huge amount of sources talking about what Bolsonaro has said, but there's an almost disturbing lack of citation towards the primary source (i.e. speeches). Here in the US you usually don't have to look far to find the source of people's ranting about our president, usually the bullshit comes right from his mouth. Either what you say about fake news is true, or the language barrier is posing a bit of a problem in finding anything to contradict or back up your argument for me. I'm assuming it's a bit of both at the moment. Again, sorry for the lack of response.
"Fake news" as a lot of people put it is absolutely a problem, sensationalism and distortion of facts in order to further an agenda. However, I notice that the term is abused quite often to ignore important events, such as school shootings, climate change and even things that politicians are on record saying. I have no idea if this is happening in Brazil too, but around here the idea of 'fake news' is vastly overused to help people plug their ears, go 'la la la' and keep living in a little bubble of their own ideology. On the other hand I very much appreciate the wave of skepticism. Problem is people have a big problem finding a proper balance.

Yeah we should be extra cautious when it comes to news about politicians from countries whose language we do not speak, But from what I have seen here the vast majority of strong criticism towards the Bolsonaro government (the majority but not all) is based on superficial points and selected data like what I showed. I mean: the Minister of the Environment posted on his Twitter that the absurd amount of the money they blocked from the National Policy of Solid Waste ("Política Nacional de Resíduos Sólidos") would be used by the governemnt to deal with the waste trough other means (the governemnt thought the original policy was being inneficient and thanks to this decided to use the economic resources trough other means to the same end), but the mainstream media didn't show this tweet (that can be found here twitter.com/rsallesmma/status/… and can be translated to "Instead of financing lectures, seminars and "scientific studies" of them, we will destinate the resources to get rid of the dumps in Brazil. That is to actually act against climate change and defend the environment and quality of life of people."), so yeah the Fake News issue is a huge one in Brazil as well, but I would not be susprised if many here used the term as their first argument (or in some cases last and desperate argument) against anything that goes against their agenda. I can just say that while I am a rightist myself, I have seen people from both extremes saying crap.
Regarding Trump, there are many things that he says that I agree with and many I disagree with. My father sent me the video of his recent speech defending the Second Amandement of the US constitution and I can tell you something: everything he criticized was put to practice in Brazil since 2003 at least, and the results here were crime rates skyrocketing all around the country. But when it comes to climate change then Trump really shit from his mouth. Like: according to the data we have on climate change, China is the main anatagonist in the 21st century do how on Earth would it benefit them? And if he is gonan build that wall in the middle of national American and Mexican reserves, it will need to have some tunnels trough wich wildlife can cross the border in order to not harm the gene pool (and these could be well guarded, preventing illegal immigrants from taking advantage of that). Everything I said is why I try to seek the balance you mentioned, even if I have to go more towards one side to balance the system (like balancing an axe, for example).

Sorry for this response out of nowhere. I wanted to bring your attention to this article (whose reliability I have not checked yet), but I thought was relevant, especially in light of the recent massive Amazon fires:
