I can't contribute, Dearie.  and I don't have time to understand it.  As much as I appreciate the invite, I stick to groups that I can just draw as I like when the mood strikes me, and go when I feel like.  I'm totally not into RPG games or LARPing, and I don't want to be assigned roles and characters.  I don't have the time.

So, basically, I'm a dead member in your Arch fandom, and I don't get it.

Thereby I'm uncomfortable remaining in a group that I neither have interest in, nor have the time to partake or contribute to.
I would be like one of those creepy stalker type people that someone invites into their Facebook page, yet never says anything, and never likes what is being posted, and never is active in anyway...
What are they doing there?  Being a place-holder so the friend count can be increased?  That's creepy.
Very creepy IMHO, and I dont enjoy being a creeper who is just there because I increase numbers.

To me -  just joining a group in order to increase its numbers for popularity doesn't make sense if the people don't truly enjoy or like what they are being dragged into, or like me - don't have the time.

I would rather have you have members of your group who have the time and are willing to follow along and contribute.  Otherwise, there is no point to being inside the Arch group other than to be a place-holder to increase your group numbers.  And that's not fair for me.

Please don't be hurt or rejected.  This is not a reflection of my friendship with you.  I value you as an awesome person, good friend, and stupendous fangirl, but I don't feel comfortable being a part of something in which I would be as active as a lump of coal.

Yoir Zelda Cartoon group is mega, super, duper, totally awesome!  You have a lifetime fan in me,  because I get it and understand it, because I, like millions of others grew up with the Zelda lore and the games and the cartoons. It totally rocks!

and your Arch group I'm sure is awesome and creative and original, but I just don't have time to be a part of it, follow the fandom, read the stories, be assigned tasks and characters, draw artwork for it, write stories about it, and do anything creative within it....therefore I don't want to be a part of it.

I gotch'ya!
And it's fine that you love Erik despite his misfortunes and poor choices that he makes which cause him pain and whatnot (and also the unmentioned physical appearence that he was born with).

I will always love Lecter despite the fact that he is reprehensible as a person in general.  My attraction to him is not because he is clinically messed up, nor has six fingers on each hand, nor the red eyes as he is written to have in the book - my attraction to my Hannibal is due his intelligence.

He is a genius, and I love geniuses.

AnaxErik4ever In reply to RCopeland-AiijuinArt [2017-01-04 22:50:18 +0000 UTC]

Erik was the first man, fictional or actual, I ever had a crush on.  And it was his intelligence that caused that.  Yup, from the start, looks have never been a primary attraction factor for me.  I use my version of "the Choice of Paris" from Greek Mythology to explain why.  I always choose Athena's gift of wisdom because I would prefer to find and achieve my "kingdom of Asia" and "the love of the most beautiful (wo)man on Earth" on my own, but considering my lacking social skills, the wisdom would be most helpful to me.

Nah, it's all good.  I'm so sorry that my comic has been lagging for months.  I'm trying to play catch up on computers and stories and physical therapies for ankles - so my plate is over full and I'm running out of time before I have to resume work.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
You're back!  You're back!

I've MISSED YOU!

Aw...
I'm glad that you like my storytelling, Dearie!
I welcome you to partake in the Zelda comic (which I'm currently in stall mode on as well due to ... reasons).

I missed so much hearing from you.
I hope to see more things coming back from you.

Don't give up your art.  Even if you're majoring in something completely different in college, or working something unrelated in you job - drawing, or producing any kind of art is always a wonderful way to creatively burn off stress and center your life again.

Be well!
Be well!

It's so great to hear from you again, BTW.

You're most welcome!  I enjoyed your artwork, but your journal entry about pricing is also a fantastic added bonus!  Right on!
As a freelance 'for hire' graphic designer, you wouldn't believe (or you probably would) how many times I've been told my hourly pricing was too expensive.  I charged $14 per hour, but in the end - I was only paid $75 for a five day project for a 1/4 advertisment spread that was being used for Governor Chris Christie's honor ball banquet from charity hospital in Trenton.

I was so upset that I gave up my art for a while.
People - even corporate wealthy companies think that it's okay to overwork an artist with potential - and then pay them breadcrumbs when the time comes.

I refuse to take commissions here on Deviant, because I understand how young most of the fanbase is - and also how little people tend to understand that time = money.  (I learned that in Cosmetology school 12 years ago).
Still, I wish you the best of luck on Patreon.

I've considered moving my things (comics & fan art) over there, but I'm not sure if I'd get nailed in copyright infringement and such (which I'm sure many other artists are making money for doing similar things as me) - --- I'm sure I'm losing out big time.

Wow... that's a lot of words for a thank you, huh?
Eh, come what may.  You are an inspiration to me.
Thank you!

Yeah that sucks. I can't get commissions worth any crap here and yet I want to make commissions so I can save up for a new computer >.<; I made my prices flat rate again for now, but that's only because I've been making art for 4-8 hours anyways and that's generally the same price. I may force an hourly wage again if they ask me for something ridiculously detailed and time consuming though.

And shoosh... I'm not THAT much of an inspiration. >///< I'm just a person.

It's been waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to long!  I can't believe I haven't given you a watch until now.  I was scrolling on the new DA app on my iPhone 5, and found a quick 'watch followers' list.  Makes it easy to watch those who watch me. (in a non-weird way, of course).

I love your work!  It's very Renaissance-like, the way you render and setup the lighting.  I think it's fantastic and definitely something to watch and learn from.
I'm still a newbie to DAZ myself - but I love to look at other people's amazing renders and finalized products.  I mainly render using pWToon - because I mass produce comics, but to see some of the work others have done--->

Thank you for posting all of your amazing work!
