Just been busy and doing a lot of thinking. Haven't been drawing that much lately, so I kind of lost the motivation to use DA.

My familly is pretty deep in religion. But my beliefs and view are a tad different than theirs. I'm more open minded then they are ^^

Uhm. They are the old type of christians, believing in pretty much everything the priest spews. If they see another person that has different beliefs than they do. Well they are not very acccepting.
They are the type of people to believe that their problems would be fixed if they visit the church every so often and pray. And their "worship" of the physical things presented by the church - like old paintings or the remains of some saint.
Unlike them, I don't expect my problems to magically disappear and I distrust the church simply for their selection on what they say about the teachings they were given. They take everything literally and don't judge on their own if something's good or bad, if they are saying the right thing or not. I dislike the power the church has over the weak-willed.
And I can't really understand why people think that a physical thing is what connects them to that above, the sky, Heaven.
Worshiping something physical is wrong on so many levels.
When I stopped going to church...well it took my mother a few years to realize that, but when she saw it she asked me "Do you believe in the devil?" As in if I worship him.
What I am saying is that religion is important for some and not so much for others. But there are those to let it go to far and reach obsession, like part of my familly. It's not something to let overrun our lifes without having a say in it ourselves.

Hum. Christian-catholic I think. But my parents have been to more churches in our country as we used to travel every now and then. So I suppose it's a general thing for most the churches around here

I'm not sure although based of what I've seen some catholic churches can be very showy with what they have, not saying all are like that. The churches I went to weren't very like that, they focused on the message being said and are open to talk afterwards.

Yeah. My fam went to those types of showy churches. But I went to a church a friend invited me to for a few times, it was a pretty simple one that focused on the message. But even so, people can be simple minded and ignorant even there. No matter how much better they acted

The friend I knew from that church. He was and still is a nice guy. But let's just say that no matter how good a person is, they can still be judgemental on other people's choices. He's homophobic, I guess and I dislike that kind of person...I suppose that is one of the reasons I didn't bother keeping in contact with him. He let the church and bible over-rule his decision...

Maybe, at some point. But I only found some friends that didn't mind n'or cared if a person was a secret flying unicorn or who knows what. I guess it's kind of like a given...you go to church, then your most likely end up a homofob. I didn't think much on that before. I guess for me it became an issue at some point. Maybe because I'm not really interested in the sex of the other person. So I can practically date a guy or a girl the same way. I guess it stopped being an issue of being just open minded at some point. I guess it started when I actually had two friends fighting over this topic at some point...was kind of forced to pick a side. Lost contact with one of them as he cut every ties with the people we had in common. And being in another country as well, was kind of hard to know if he was okay or not. Was pissed at him for going that far, but at some point I was just worried. I guess this what I get for being myself.

There is no actual clear reason actually. Just like asking why people keep pretending that no one cares when they have someone near them that tries to make them to speak up, a friend that's there even if he has his own problems...and they just run away, whilst still pretending there's no one - ignoring the other person, had that happen to me yet again today. Sometimes I wish it would be easier to solve problems by talking them out, but some people refuse to see that.

Sometimes they need to be convinced that talking about it will help. Perhaps trying to understand why they won't talk about it will help you person trying to help them.
