I have heard of this process before. I seen a tutorial a long time ago of a guy doing this with his dash board. he used a oil based clay (like chavant nsp medium). sculpted on top of his dash board, made a silicon mold, and then cast it in resin. it turned out really good. you could do the same for the hood of your car, if thats what your planning on doing. but you will need to find all the right material. so, oil based, silicon and the right casting material and you should be good to go.

my plan is to sculpt the air inlet. than i think i need cera, some kind of seperation lacquer (i dont know the words in english of trennwachs and trennlack )
and at the end i build the real negative out of glass fibre reinforced plastic (grp). the cera and the lacquer is just the seperation layer. do you think that work?

it might, I really dont know to be honest sense I never tried this method before. but fiber glass resin castings are probably used a bit for something like this.
