Same here, I'll be heading off to college on August 7th. Unfortunately the college I am going to is still in Georgia, but once I graduate I'll be leaving Georgia and mabey the United States completely.

BTW, considering your innovation within the "DeviantArt meets Firefox" arena, I've been wondering if there was a way (FF extension or simply adding a new feature to the site itself) to manage your favourites gallery alot more efficiently, as I'm having trouble with reducing my favourites gallery (it was a mistake for me to add THAT many deviations back last year, and I'm probably regretting it right now). ;

Do you think it would be possible to create that type of extension? RSVP, merci.

On second thought, nevermind. I figure that this particular feature could be a Greasemonkey script that could simply modify the page in order to add checkboxes to each favourite and the "remove all" feature at the bottom of the page.

Would you happen to know exactly how to make a Greasemonkey script, by any chance?

Well, could this suffice (at least for the immediate term): as DA offers its members the "checkbox" feature in the messages section, as well as for the DevWatch section, isn't it possible to streamline the favourites gallery in like manner? I mean, if subscribers (like myself as of recently) only need to move their mouse cursor over the gallery when in "list" form, then maybe, just maybe, it is less convenient (again, to the subscriber) to remove the favourite from your gallery by going to the page of the deviation itself.

In this wise, even if the deviant doesn't have a large gallery (like I do, my mistake), if he or she desires to add/remove a deviation from his/her gallery, shouldn't it be a tiny bit more convenient to manage it in like manner?

Sorry if it sounds a bit, well, annoying in any regard, its just that, while it isn't absolutely-necessary-to-death, it may help the DA experience (at least within the subscription-features department) for other deviants who may want to manage their favourites gallery alot more efficiently. Well, if you go into your favourites, aside from sorting them by date/favourites and whatnot, you can also use the drop down menus to slim them down by category.

For example:

So while you can't just go into your favourites and defavourite by the thumbnails (and I seriously doubt that'll be brought around), you can slim down what you go through at a time.


Due to the huge drama surrounding the "zomg favourites! >:[" in the DA community, I've started the habit of keeping a folder in my bookmarks to drop pieces in that I might want to fave. Basically, it's a way for me to "sit" on the piece and see if it still impresses me a week, two weeks later as it did when I first saw it. Dunno if this would also help you.

Well, true, the convenience of streamlined favourites managing probably isn't going to be on the minds of the head honchos here for quite a while, but I mean, if they can have checkboxes for your DeviantMessages area, then why not for other self-pertinent listings of similar sorts (well, except for your own gallery; the longer process of deletion or removal should remain as such for the time being)? It's an idea within an idea, as even @bluespeed9 has said that it is possible (although he didn't necessarily see why most people would need it) to create a Firefox extension to enable the "streamlined favourites managing" concept. But I guess that it can only remain a idea for now...who knows?

Oh, and thanks. I'm often in a period of woe as far as my artistic strengths are concerned, since they lie (heavily) within the writing department, while they are lacking (or just plain-out nonexistent) within the art (drawn, digitized, whatever) area. Oh woe is me....
