Yo. I have lately been obsessed with RWBY fanfiction, and just I should let you know. I am a huge fan. Keep it up!

So, I saw an old post of yours on Tumblr asking for fandom recommendations. If you're still interested, I have a challenge: I'll describe a ship and the characters in it from a fandom you've never written before, then just based on those character descriptions, you write a fluff piece based in the ship, trying to be as close as possible to cannon, without knowing the full cannon. The ship is Big Boss/Ocelot from Metal Gear (I know, I have an obsession, but this series, in particular MGS2's moral of using art as way to pass on ideas to the next generation is what got me into writing. My heightened fanaticism at this current time is mostly due the final game in the series coming out Sep. 1st) so, here is the description of the characters in the ship
Big Boss:
Big Boss is the main villain of the original 2 Metal Gear games for the MSX-2 all the way back in the early 90's. After the death of his mentor/ mother figure the Boss during the cold war due to politicians manipulating him into thinking he betrayed the U.S. and making it his mission to kill her, he swore to build a nation that had no government, therefore no politicians. Instead it would have a military that would hire itself out to any one on either side of the Cold War, east or west, and take in anyone regardless of previous nation, ideology, race, ethnicity, sexuality, etc. At first they only took just causes, but after persecution at the hands of the world governments, they became full fledged mercenaries and Big Boss became obsessed with destabilizing the world, and turning the governments of the world on each other so the constant wars would create a political climate where his nation of Outer Heaven was not only excepted, but needed. He tries to do this from his base in South Africa, after conquered the bottom half of the continent. He is loyal to whatever cause he takes on to the end, even if he knows he's fighting a losing battle, and respects loyalty and honor above all else. he is calm and reserved, but well spoken.
Ocelot:
A talented marksman with a revolver, Ocelot has a cowboy obsession, and dresses in a western duster, and has spurs on his shoes. He is mainly loyal to himself and his own causes, and is used to playing the double/triple agent. After Big Boss kicked his ass multiple times however (www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Ppyyl… ), he fell in love with Big Boss, and became eternally loyal him. He is cocky, arrogant, but only because the only person to ever beat him was Big Boss, literally the greatest soldier in human history. he is a spy for Big Boss in the Patriots, the organisation that destroyed Big Boss' nation the first time around, leading to Big Boss going down the path to becoming a villain. He feels guilty for accidentally shooting out Big Boss right eye (hence Big Boss' eye patch)

As a matter of fact, I have not. I'm much better informed when it comes to Final Fantasy XIII than RWBY (at least with regards to the fan community). My guesses about how things end up in the future are extrapolations based on what we currently know. Weiss's taking over her family's operations in Vale is a fairly logical extension of how things are looking so far (I am referring here to my most recent story). The actions she takes are also fairly logical - history has shown us that the best way to win a war is to attack on several fronts at once. Crushing the opponents attempts at aggression while removing any reason the general population have to support them is a sound recipe for success. No insurgency movement can prosper without adequate support and at least some modicum of success (to help gain that support).

Yeah, that happens. Blake becomes the head of the SDC security along with completely discarding the bow and having this really cool hairdo and just being adorable- ahem. She also is an advocate for faunus and Weiss has a bunch of them employed in the company. Weiss, yes, becomes the head of SDC, gaining an extra scar across her current one from a Dust incident that Ruby protected her from. Yang has her own bar and is fucking badass. Ruby lost her right eye and got severe scarring on the arm on the same sing from the Dust explosion, and is still also an adorable badass. WBY are twenty three and Ruby is twenty one. These are both totally awesome. I will definitely promote them once the next chapter of the Vestige comes out. Unfortunately, that chapter has been experiencing some technical difficulties. I know what I'm going to have in it, and I do have the fight scenes mapped out in my head, but I've got an original fiction project that's been taking up a lot of my time. I still expect it to hit within the next fortnight (I'm going to try and free up some time either this week or this weekend to get it done).

Hey Raziel I wanted to ask you a question. Who exactly are the "neighbors" in your fanfictions? In many of your fanfictions you always have a joke going on about "the neighbors did this or heard this." I was also wondering are you planning to write a chapter to tell us who these neighbors exactly are?

It depends at what point in time you mean.
During Ordinary Heroes, Serah and Snow live on one side of Fang and Lightning's house. Their other neighbours are yet to be revealed.
During many of the chapters of Fangrai February, Lightning lives in a different house with Fang and Vanille. Their neighbours are a few unfortunate randoms who got stuck living next to some mischievous people. On the upside, no one would dare rob a house near where Lightning lives. Interestingly enough, Vanille knows all of their neighbours and has made friends with them. That is why she is able to muster an army of neighbourhood children in the snowball fight chapter.
As for whether or not I'll write a story about their neighbours in more detail, the thought had occurred to me. In my head, I see Diana looking out the window as a moving truck brings another family in next door. Of course, the first thing she'd do is see if there's anyone she can be friends with.
It's funny, actually, I tend to make Diana the focus of so many of the stories. I guess it's because I probably came up with her first (with Averia second and Claire third) when I was thinking about the kids.

That solves some of my question. They lived in different houses. I thought they lived in the same place.
Anyways, I think you write more of Diana because she was your first character. You have more of a connection to her. I always wondered why you took to Diana more then any of the other kids. I am not saying you don't write the others great, but Diana has always been the strongest character. If you ever write a one shot for the neighbors I can really see Diana in it. Diana is just so cute.
You know I have never seen you use any of the characters from the upcoming Final Fantasy game. Maybe the neighbors could be them? Just so we are on the same page I am talking about Final Fantasy versus 13 or known now as Final Fantasy 15.
Since we are talking about the kids that leads to another interesting question. What made you come up with the kids? I know its a cool idea to see Light and Fang have kids, but is there another reason?

I haven't used the upcoming characters from FF 15 because I don't think we know enough about them yet. Perhaps when the game is actually out - or at least we know more - I might.
I didn't really have an ulterior motive when coming up with the kids. I decided one day that I wanted a story when Fang and Lightning had children, and the kids came along after that. With regards to their personalities, I know that I wanted one kid to be more like Fang and one to be more like Lightning. Since then, however, Diana has become steadily more mischievous (I'd blame Vanille for that) and Averia has become a tad more laid back in some ways than I'd originally envisioned her (she is willing to mess with people, for example, which is more of a Fang thing than a Lightning thing). I didn't have much of an idea about what Claire would be like - I only knew I wanted Serah and Snow to have a child - but I think she's come along nicely. She's happy-go-lucky but willing to hold her ground when she thinks she has to. She's a bit of a peacemaker too, when she needs to be.

I cant wait for FF15 I want to see your take on the characters. I understand though why you don't want to use them just yet.
I see so in the beginning you just planned to make mini Light, and mini Fang. As time went on though they have really developed into there own characters. Diana is slowly becoming a mini Vanille in a way. Not like that is a bad thing at all though (unless she has some kind of evil plot.) Claire seems like a mini Serah. Peacemaking but at the same time staying heartwarming.
I love how the kids have turned out. Great job Raziel.

Sadly I don't think they have a release date yet for FF15. It's been forever now it seems like since they have told us any thing. Last news I have heard of it was a trailer a few months ago. The trailer did show case a little backstory, but it wasn't any thing amazing. I am just waiting for the day Square says they dropped the project. Its been how many years now since they told us about the game? To many.
Sometimes going with it is just what you have to do. So far it seems to be working out just fine.

I don't think Square can really afford to drop it now that they've put so much into it. I reassure myself with the thought that Zelda: Ocarina of Time had a similarly convoluted development cycle.
