I wish I could have a keyblade replica, but I don't have money or know how to craft such things. T~T
I've wanted one since I was 13 and began RPG games with Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days.

I don't really make them these days, but there's no reason you can't give it a try ^-^ I made a little tutorial for the Oblivion keyblade (redshotronin.deviantart.com/ar⦠), and there are lots of other tutorials out there.

Hi there-
Unfortunately I can't take any orders right now, as I'm in a moving transition for the next few months and I don't much have a studio to make anything in at the moment >.< I do have a tutorial up, if you care to have a go at building an Oblivion yourself! Sorry I can't be of more help.

Hey just saw your tutorial from your key sword. Just amazing
Could you please give me some advice?
I would like to make the sword and the pistol of Babydoll from Sucker Punch.
But I'm not sure which material I shall use... Shall I use Expandig Foam? Or what would you recommend to me?
Please help me...

Hey there-
I can certainly try to help you out, but after looking at the too items, I'm not sure building them from scratch would be your easiest way of going about it.
They both appear to be slight modifications of a pretty usual looking pistol and katana. I didn't look too hard honestly, but here's a sight for some real cheap fake pistols: [link] I would choose one that was close and the just use paint and then some rub on transfer paper, like this stuff here: [link] (just search for rub on transfer paper, some of your local stores might have it too) for the fine black detail.
The same goes for the sword. It's a pretty normal looking katana from what I can tell. I'd try here maybe to find one to match:
[link] Wrap the handle up with a different material (and you can look up sword handle wrapping tutorials right here on DA, they're there) , then use the same rub on transfer paper to get the etched look.
If you are really pressed for time and can't wait for shipping or are really really broke and want to use nothing above cardboard and acrylic paint, or if you are just dead set on making them yourself, hit me up again, and I can try for a round two. But I'll tell you that for the fairly normal looking stuff like your's, sometimes making them yourself instead of just modifying already existing things just isn't worth the effort. I've done it, believe me.
Anyways, I hope I've been helpful, and I hope your cosplay turns out wonderfully! Best of luck!

Hey thanks for your response
Well I'd like to make myself and not just buy and paint it
But when you say, it would be too complicated... I just don't know
Well maybe I should just try to do it. Perhabs I'll manage to make it Then I would upload some photos to show you, okay?

If you want to go for it, go for it ^-^ Layers of foamcore could do you for the pistol, and a length of wood is more recommended for the sword. If you do end up doing it yourself, I'd love to see picks of how it turns out. Or post 'in process' pics, and I can try to be a little more helpful with the whole making it thing than I was before. ^-^()
Good luck!

Hello there-
I can certainly give tips on specific things you are having trouble with! But unfortunately I am not much taking commissions right now. I plan to reopen in about a month if you have time to wait.
I can always try to be helpful though! What sort of things were you concerned about in its construction?

I randomly stumbled upon your gallery and I love the Oathkeeper keyblade. It's amazing and I was wondering how much the supplies cost when making the keyblade.

RedShotRonin In reply to Astra-the-Goddess [2011-02-22 06:15:45 +0000 UTC]
Thanks very much! Looking back, the colors are honestly a little wonky, and it could be more 3Dish if I ever wanted to put more time in to them...but still. I like them.
Honestly, it kind of depends. Since I make a lot of them, I buy everything in larger quantities, which makes the price for the materials for each one go down. If you were buying the materials just for one keyblade, the solid housing foam would still run you about $15 or so, the resin about $25, and the plastic supports/foamcore...well I've never much bought those in little bits, so I'm just not sure >.< The overall cost would also depend greatly on the collection of power tools and acrylic paint you already have on hand. The white cord and wooden star will run you around $5, though
I hope that helps somewhat! You can hit me up if you have any other questions. ^-^

RedShotRonin! I haven't talked to you in forever! (Actually, It's been a week but, Psh, who's counting?) Aaaaanyways, I was wondering about the sitar? ^_^ So happy about it! I have no idea how much it costs, but I should be able to get money this Friday. I'm not being pushy, am I? >_< I'm sorry if I am.

No worries. And I have no idea how much it was suppose to cost anyways. How much do the other ones cost? Like $8 or $10 or something?...

I'm not exactly sure... But $10 would be perfectly fine. And thank you so much. I am SO excited! X)

so my boyfriend was telling me about this dude that make awesome wooden keyblades. He said the the guy was at youmacon years ago. I so want a keyblade but not them keychain tiny things. I was wonder if you are that guy? Are you the guy who make these awesome keyblades my bf told me about. He couldnt remember the name so he told me to type in wooden keyblade here.

RedShotRonin In reply to FireBabyAngel [2010-11-09 22:20:56 +0000 UTC]
I don't make mine out of wood, actually. And I'm a girl, so I don't think that's me. I make my keyblades out of resin coated solid housing foam, sort of like you would make a surfboard. So I can certainly make you a keyblade if you like, but there are other crafters on here that make them out of wood if you prefer it.

lol my bad, sorry. whats resin coated foam? is it light weight? out of curiosity, how much would you charge?
π: 0 β©: 1
RedShotRonin In reply to FireBabyAngel [2010-11-10 02:08:39 +0000 UTC]
It's pretty light weight, yep. None of the keyblades I make weigh over 2 pounds. And it depends on which keyblade you would like and where you are in the world! (shipping costs)
