Edward POV
Β Β Β The King stepped slowly to the side of Jonathan. He put his blackened, iron sword against his neck. How long did I have? I could reach them in seconds. But that wouldn't be enough to stop the blade from slicing his neck.
Β Β Β ''Wait!!'' I shouted as loudly as I could. It rippled across the field and landed on the King's ear just as the sword was about to end Jonathan's life. The blade halted in the air then returned gently to the ground. The King stared at me as he tapped his boot with the tip of his sword. I took that moment to race towards them, completely uncertain of what I was going to do.
Β Β Β ''Speak,'' he said and raised the sword back over the collapsed Jonathan. I raised my hand and glanced wildly at the sword that could so easily end him. I breathed slowly, choosing my next words carefully.
Β Β Β ''My sword.... for your son.''
