Are you trying to say Jasper had a men's chest in the picture we commented, or in the show itself? Because both claim are wrong if you'd simply look. In that picture of Jasper cosplaying as Frankie, you can clearly see the round, soft curve of her large breasts. It's one of the most obvious features in that fanart. In the show, the same sort of principle is true. It's certainly not as defined as in the fanart, considering it's a show on Cartoon Network and it doesn't focus on those sorts of details, but again her chest is rounded and gives the appearance of softness, as opposed to the more rectangular, hard impression you get from viewing developed pectoral muscles on a man.Β

And Jasper was certainly bigger, stronger, and designed to be more sturdy than the rather delicate frames that all the others gems have been portrayed to have, but never once did she "look as much as men as he did women". The feminine eyelashes she had and her full, pouty lips are more than enough to denote her as of the female gender (while Gems are confirmed to have no sex, they all take the female form and identify as such), not to mention that in canon she is referred to as a "she".Β

Jasper is a big, strong, and oddly beautiful lady~ ;3

Well in fanart it.. Also didn't norice eyelashes noire lips but i guess she is... Also all of them are genderless but are technically females? Weird, how to they continue to equistetis

Didn't quite understand what you were trying to say about the fanart. Grammar and spelling help a lot to get your message across online, though I understand if English isn't your primary language.Β

The gems are sexless, not genderless. Sex refers to the physical anatomy, gender is the emotional and mental. As they've stated in the show, the gems' bodies are simply illusion when it comes down to it, and arguably they could take whatever shape they wanted (and some of them do, too).Β

And the gems continue to exist because from what we've seen in the show, they are made artificially, they don't age and seem to be unable to die, as any huge amount of damage simply makes them retreat into their gem to recover, which makes them effectively immortal. Β Though, that does pose the question of their origin, how they first came into existence, but I'm sure they'll delve into that down the line in the show, especially if we get to see the leaders of Homeworld.Β

Sorry, English is only language ( besides very VERY little greek) n using phones seem to be were i make loads of mistakes, also i think they can die, from ageing( evultilly) or if there gems are crack in pieces from 2 to thousend, give or take.

ReyDePanty In reply to DimitriWarchief123 [2015-04-03 19:59:01 +0000 UTC]

Ah, phones can be hard to type on...Β

And no, they can't die from ageing, it's been explicitly stated in canon (watch "Too Many Birthdays").

The cracks thing is plausible, but it seems to be an issue that they're prepared for, what with how they handled when Amethyst's gem cracked and now that they have Steven's healing powers too(which has proven to completely heal a damaged gem), there isn't anything they really have to worry about aside from their gems completely shattering, but that looks to be incredibly difficult on it's own, even more so when the gems are in their humanoid forms.Β

It looks like the biggest thing they have to worry about is gem corruption, as we've learned that all the monster gems they've fought used to be normal gems. Not entirely sure what constitutes a gem becoming corrupt or the process, but it must be horrifying to beings like them, who can recover from almost any injury or damage completely, to always have that lingering threat of losing themselves in body, mind and spirit like that...Β

I hope we get an episode down the line that plays with those themes, that'd be cool.Β
