I am not a "real" Artist, just a passioned and patient Hobbyist who really loves Pastels in any way (Soft, hard and pencils) !

What do you mean by "realistic drawings " ? Do you think mine are not enough "realistic" Next step will be photorealistic but it needs more time LOL

Hello dear Bertrand.
Thank you for you nice answers, and yes I like to 'see' the perso behind  stoy
DA is an amazing way of connecting (and if you wish, there is also a private way to talk to eachother . In a 'note' if you wish)
I myself am also an amature. Bit we grow every day my friend.... on every level. And sometimes the 'worst' things happen to us for 'good' reasons....growth.

I realy DO like you work !, and please continue painting my friend.

You wrote about your military period. I guess you had is a a job for a certain time?
The military and nuclear energy seem to 'fit'  And Wahat I see is you are now using both 'brainhalves' the left ánd the right ones.
We all need to develop/grow ... in both ways I guess. To find the balance  !  How very nice of you t share so much of 'you' . I do appreciate it!

I do paint with acryl too. And pastels are so lovely .

I spend 2 years in the army but as Scientist in DOD lab. After thta get a position as Research engineer in the engineering school i am nos and after passed my PhD to become an Assistant-professor.
I am now Full-time Pr and manage about 70 to 90 students in 5 Majors (5 different Masters if you rather...) fully taught in English which represent 2600 hours of course... You may now understand how busy I am !

Yes my friend I cab imagine your life is busy, and in a demanding job.
But I hope you enjoy it most times?   It must be very relaxing to paint and draw after a  full day of al lot of impressions and questions   hihi...
Just being with an IN yourself and the colors of your soul.... 
But I guess you are not the type of man to sit on a chair al day

You're welcome.

In fact, up to now, I never took time (and was not confident enough in my art) to do that.
After my strong and aggressive cancer 3 years ago, I completely lost my right eye and stopped to draw during 2 years (I thought thta it was impossible for me...) But under the perssure of my beloved daughter, I started again last summer and surprisingly, it worked and 50 % of paintings in  my gallery was made since summer 2014...

I made my very 1st exhibition in june (in my company) and friends & colleagues strongly incited me to cerate my own blog (not enough time) or to register in a site like DA.
