Yeah sure! It's been a long time since art school though so if they're questions about art history im likely to have forgotten it all XD. Sounds interesting. What kind of activities are you talking about?

the activities could be books to look at, people to talk to, things to do and watch. Basically anything that's related to comics.
I'm looking into how stories and art are developed.

Okay, so would it be that i assign you an activity for say, the week, and then at the end of it you show me the result? And you want the activities to be focused towards comics and drawing comics?
I can do that. Do you want me to give you an actual objective to do? Um, i do something similar with my sister in law and basically she will tell me 'I want the design of three main characters for a super hero comic', and i have to come up with a drawing of them and describe their personalities. Or are you wanting something a little less formal? As in i give you recommendations for things i think are helpful or inspirational?

As long as it has to do with comics and character/story development with an objective you’re good!

Don't be scared by how long this looks, i'm just trying to make sure it's not confusing!
Okay so here's the proposal. You tell me if you accept or if you want me to think of something else XD Don't hesitate to tell me if you don't like it.
-Choose a comic you are familiar with. For example for me it would be Batman or Deadpool, maybe New Mutants.
-Think up a character that would fit into that comic-book world. Are they a hero? Are they a villian? In creating the character, think about what personality traits they have, what kind of clothing would they wear? What things do they like? Do they have anger management problems? (Does it notice i'm thinking of damian?) Try your very best to stay clear of making the character too important, remember it would be a secondary character, so you can't really make them 'oh-wow-he's-so-amazing-let's-all-worship-him' right off the bat. Write down your thoughts on the character as you think of them.
-Try to come up with a quick back story for this character, who are their parents? How have they been influenced? All this will help you know what kind personality and what kind of knowledge your character would have ie; you can't draw them with a gun if they haven't got a plausible reason for knowing how to shoot
-Finally, draw your character. If you still don't have a clear vision of them in your head then do three basic versions (or two if three's too many)really quick sketches, all of them very different and see which you prefer. If you know exactly want you want then just go ahead and do the final drawing. Try your very best to draw them in a style that would fit in with the comic, but don't worry if it doesn't come out the same. This is all about learning right? I'm still utter crap at getting the styles right XD

-So for Friday next week you've got to show me a finished colour drawing of your character and a brief description of who they are.
Have fun with this, do something that you'll enjoy drawing. You want your character to be a three year old girl with pig tails? go for it! Put some of their personality into it, Damian gets drawn with cats and katanas, the human torch gets drawn with spiderman plushies, because it's things they like. Maybe she's wearing miffy hairclips? Try to make her a rounded character, with a solid personality. Very often it's not the plot that matters but how the character reacts to it.
Does this sound okay? If you don't like this idea or you get stuck on it just tell me and i'll give you a different one. Also feel free to ask me stuff if you get stuck throughout the week
