Thank you! Becoming a biologist is a little difficult but worth the effort! As a student I have already traveled to the middle east for research and presented my project on striped hyena at a number of conferences.

There is so much to learn that's what makes it so interesting! There are tons of animals to choose from. I specialize in large carnivore studies
I am in the middle of analyzing data for hyena populations from Jordan.

I hope I can be good at it...if you don't mind, do you have any recommendations for what classes I should be taking? It's my first year of high school but I want to get a good start so that I have proper qualifications for Biology. I want to take Marine Biology, so that means I have to take either physics or chemistry, not both...

I recommend taking all the science possibly can. Biology, chemistry, physics, and even geology. The best thing is to volunteer at your local state parks. For biology I recommend obtaining your masters or Ph.D. You will have a better chance at finding work. Getting involved in the environment will help out tremendously. You will need to take chemistry you may not need physics. It is not a requirement for me. Just research colleges and the programs they offer.

I live next to Scripps Oceanographic Institute, but it might be kind of hard to get an internship there...Our school doesn't offer geology, I don't think, unfortunately. Also, a bit further out into the mountains is the California Wolf Center.
