ok, to post stuff, go to the top of the page and on the right hand side, there should be a link thing that says something like "submit art". You need to choose a catigory for whatever your posting, and then the rest should be explanitory =+). To update a journal, go to the top of the page again and there should be a link like right under the submit art link. To make someones icon show, you do this : icon liahona : only with out the spaces. the word 'icon' alwayscomes first tho. and for the fun lil faces, there's an emoticons link right under the box where you leave comments on the right side.

Ok, first, you'll need Adobe Image Ready, which i think is all you have, so that's good
Next, go here [link] - that'll show you how to make your own icon
If you wanna get a pic and make it into an icon (like off the internet or something) then find a picture, save it, open Image Ready w/ it, crop the part of the pic you want as your icon (it has to be 50 by 50 pixles) and then go onto deviant, go to "Edit Profile" and the first screen you go to should have a browse bar for your avatar, just find the pic, and press ok.
