# About me
Just a college kid, closing in on graduation. I don't think I am all that great. A lot of my stuff centers around my interests, either being an activist, a nerd, or a sports fanatic. As incredible of the concept as forever is, I think that knowing that an extraordinary experience is finite makes it far more special. -Alex Carpenter

You are quite welcome! On a side note, I saw The Hobbit again today and all I could think of was First Impressions and Modern Dwarves throughout the entire movie.

I hope it didn't spoil the movie for you.

Indeed it has. Job well done!
Not at all. Not only was it the second time through but it made a lot of little things all the more funny.

Thank you!
That's good. When I get an idea while the movie is still running (watched it four times now, ahem) it's quite hard to keep it in mind till it's over (too much distraction ).
By the way, I know the feeling; there are some LotR Lego animation clips I have constantly in the back of mind since I discovered them. If you're curious:[link]

Quite welcome!
Yeah, I understand that. Have experienced it more than once. I tend to have the problem of getting them right before I fall asleep, right at the point where I am barely conscious and can't really move.
I am going to check those out right now!

I know that problem, too. I have a little notebook on my night table so I can write half-asleep ideas down.
they're great!

I can't tell you how many times watching the Fellowship I wished Legolas would trip and fall...or someone would take him down.

Though I never was very fond of him, I have nothing against legolas in particular, but the giant hype about his character only because he's an elvish blond babyface is rather hard to bear.
so yes, I understand your feelings...

Roamer13 In reply to wolfanita [2012-10-16 03:40:57 +0000 UTC]
Something about his character just rubbed me the wrong way. He was never a favorite of mine throughout the books or movies. And yes...the hype was and still is rather ridiculous. Then again, I have always been a lover of characters so any hype about an actors look for the character tends to bother me. THANK YOU FOR UNDERSTANDING!!!

yes, that's quite exactly what I think about the whole legolas-buisiness, too.
I watched the movie for the first time eleven years ago when I was in a good fangirl-age, still he wasn't really my thing.
It was the same before when I read the book; I think every character needs some little weakness or fault to be likeable, and legolas is so perfect it's annoying.
no need for thanking me - it's a pleasant surprise I hit so many people's nerve with mocking him a bit.
(except the legolas-lovers group which declined the picture. )

Something about his character just was a bit off putting for me. I had no interest in him whatsoever. Like you said he has this annoying perfect type of quality to him.
Right off the bat, I was more of a fan of the race of men. Loved Aragorn and Boromir. As soon as Theoden and Faramir were introduced, I was on the bandwagon for them as well. (I wish they would have done a better job with Faramir's character and storyline in the movies).
Ha! Gotta love it. Legolas fans are so easy to rely up.

I liked faramir better in the movies.
It's neither realistic nor comprehensible that everybody (even galadriel) ist tempted by the ring and he wouldn't want to have it even if he found it somewhere.
That always annoyed me in the book, as noble as faramir might be.
I really like the flashback scene with him, boromir and denethor in the extended edition, shame they did cut that. after that, it's quite logic that he wants to take the ring to impress his rotten daddy who doesn't love him anyway.
but the lovestory between faramir and eowyn was too short even in the extended cut. a short scene more would have been nice.

Thank you so much for the add! It is an honor to have my artwork displayed, to really have anyone interested in looking at it at all. Anything that we can do to raise awareness and help those who can't help themselves.

Of course. I got a great laugh out of it, especially since my friends and I were discussing how Frodo would have never done anything with the help of the others.

true, he wouldn't have - especially since he drifted more and more to the 'dark side' - but after all, the sense of the fellowship was to help him, and they did well (or most of them, eh, boromir? ).

Oh, he wouldn't have gotten anywhere without the Fellowship and especially without Sam. Oh, I do love Boromir though. Having read the books so many times, I have a huge soft spot for him.

yes, I like boromir, too. but I think his death in the books wasn't written so touching. But I guess that's simply the style of the book; saga-like, not very delicate.
