Yep. Getting prepped for Amelia's 1st birthday; waiting to hear back from Titmouse on a Storyboard position - and like you noticed been working on converting images from traditional to digital... just wish i had a digital tablet and pen

Well which kind of digital tablet? If you're looking for more like like Wacom bamboo series you can pick those up awfully cheap, but if you're holding out for more like the cintiq series well.... good luck there. That stuff is crazy expensive. You'd be much better off getting an Asus transformer series tablet if you need to see what you're drawing, but if you have faith that you can train your eye to have the flat tablet and stare at a computer screen those are super reasonably priced. A few months ago I almost picked myself up one for a project I was recruited for, unfortunately the group honestly needed someone who was a little more digitally knowledgeable and didn't have as much time as they originally said they had for me to catch up, =/. Anyways, guessing.. Amelia, daughter? if so super grats!

Yeah have a standard Wacom bamboo tablet; though it does get the job done, having the digital touch one would allow me to have much more access to what I want to do; what I have how is what I been working with. And Yep, to pretty much catch you up to speed. Amelia is mine and Jen's daughter; The Brandon and Becky have Marie who is is about 6th months from Amelia, and Isaiah has a son named John. Also I know the feeling; for me its either 3D animation or Web Designs, which I can do, but not my strong point, to much math and me and html / java are apparently sworn friendemies.

Heck, congratulations to all three of you, that's really awesome. The ability to do graphic design is a must these days, which I can't seem personally to muster up the cares enough to seriously pursue it so I'm sticking to the traditional stuff. Keep an eye out on the Wacom Cintiq stuff, there's supposed to be a new version coming out soon that sounded kick ass. I'm sure it won't be much cheaper, but even the original one is now I believe around 800 if I remember correctly. There are alternatives that are cheaper but I'm not one hundred percent sure about screen response time, from videos I've seen they look spot on and its half as expensive as the Cintiq, and that's the Windows flat computer, for the life of me I can't remember what its called. It isn't quite a tablet as it is quite a bit bigger than a tablet. It sort of had a short life span on the market, or at the very least not as popular as the regular tablets that are out there. I know the one I had seen was using a program called SketchBook Pro, which I have on my Nook, and it is a FANTASTIC program especially for the price, dirt cheap, but the Nook has zero response, slow as shit. I guess really at this point the question is what's your budget. As far as doing animation is concerned, good luck there buddy, I'm sure you can do it, but man that sounds, all of this really, sounds overwhelming.
