In 2007 when my friend showed me it on his laptop I thought it was the horrible, I tried Maya around that time and got no-where. I'm currently learning Maya for school, but Blender is what I use most, because how fast one can model, texture, and animate in Blender. I find blender easier to use which is why it'll stay my main program for quite a long time, even when I use Maya, I'll probably still use Blender with Maya and compatiblity for it's assets.
