Ha, yeah, that was me with the money business cards I was going around dropping em on the floor and seeing who would pick em up.

I also competed in the zbrush competition, but unfortunately did not place. I'm focusing more on environments now, and and have done a litte hand-painty stuff as well if you wannna check it out here: [link]

Man!! those hand painted textures look SWEET!! i love your attention to detail and the color pallet you chose!!

Was that Zbrush competition inside the job fair? cause i saw some people playing with the program, but i figured it was just Pixologic's way of making people try out there software. Maybe you where just there in front of me when i checked it out!!

Thanks! Those textures were really fun. I'm so used to doing realistic photo-sourced stuff that it was just so freeing to just go for it. The zbrush thing was the second day of MIGS, in the back by all the student artwork was hanging up.

The dev blog is looking really nice and professional. I'll definitely be keeping my eye on it

I'm currently in the states. I'm finishing up my final year of school at champlain college, in Burlington Vermont (which is actually only 2 hours from Montreal, including stopping at the border). I spent last year studying in Montreal through my college, and then I had an internship at Codename Games, a small game studio out in Los Angeles. There I worked on a few titles for playstation home. Cogs came out on PSHome a few weeks back, so that was my first "shipped" title.

I'm going to start applying for jobs in Montreal in a few months, because it is such a wonderful city and I absolutely loved the time I spent there, but we'll see what happens.

my gosh!! So you really have everything going smooth! That's awesome man! i have to say i'm a bit jealous! I went and applied a bit everywhere and i can't seem to be getting any responses! everybody wants to hire seniors! I'm trying to keep hope, but i guess i'm just little insecure, i'm so scared people wont like my stuff!!

I'm happy your having so much success and its really cool that you plan on moving to Montreal!! if you ever do, and i happen to have a job there, give me a call! its always cool to chill with fellow artists!

Yeppers, things have been going quite well. Two of my buddies got internships at funcom over the summer, and they really enjoyed it there. I'm not sure if they are currently looking for people, but it's worth a shot. I've also heard rumors of square-enix starting up a studio up in montreal as well.

Try not to worry so much about people liking your work. If you just keep on progressing at your pace, you'll have a job in no time. Just keep posting it anywhere and everywhere you can. Get exposure and critique from the communities, especially polycount.

And if I do end up back in Montreal anytime soon, I'll let ya know.
