# About me
Most of the stuff I post here is stuff I made in an art class. There are a few (like my craft pumpkins) that are done in my free time for fun and have no reason. This account is mostly used to show off what I made because it is an easy way to show my friends what I did. Also, many people have requested to see what I describe to them so I direct them here. My postings will be random based off if I have made something and if I have time to post.# Comments

You're welcome~ I'm actually going to try and make it~ Only, I might do it in ceramics class since I'll have access to a kiln.

oh very cool! except I'm going to assume you're also going to be using regular potter's clay and not sculpey clay lol
You'll have to show me if you make it and how it comes out!

I'm finally posting the Wayfinders I made based off your Tutorial! Sorry for such a long wait. It took forever to give them to my friends and a few of them follow me on here. Didn't want to ruin the surprise. They should be the most recent stuff in my Featured gallery. There is one missing, but I'll get that picture later and post it soon.

OMG those came out really awesome!!! I especially love the unique idea of the Zelda, Yugioh, Team Rocket, and heartless ones! That is awesome!
I'm so glad you found the tutorials really helpful and gave them out as gifts! Thanks for sharing the outcome too!!!

I have two more I still have to post. I made a Sora themed one for me and a larger one for the heck of it. I still have to take a picture of the one I made for me. I have to remake the crown center piece since I broke it bringing it home. I'm going to post the one I have right now and change the picture later with the new one.
But I'm happy you like them~

I'll let you know when I post the last one. I really don't want to post a picture of it when it has a broken piece.

Thought so too~ It seems low fire is better for the underglaze then high fire for the gradient. At least I was able to give them away instead of letting them sit around collecting dust.
Such is the life of a cosplayer. Thank god I only go to one convention a year!

Cool!
Yeah, I still have a few that I was unable to give out during Anime Boston, so they're sitting around my desk, collecting dust atm
heh, I only go to one as well, although I plan on going to more next year. Although I'm not planning to make a new costume for each con - I make one set of costumes (one for me, one for husband) a year and wear it throughout the year.

I only make one costume a year as well, but I also do one Lolita outfit I designed. It's how I remember each year by. Only this year, I did two only because I needed a jacket which I bought. Next year might have three as well, but it isn't important to have the third one since it's more of a prom dress and would only be worn for one event.

that sounds pretty awesome! ^_^ Lolita outfits are pretty darn cute!
For me, I just don't have the time to make more than one per year. I'm also in the SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism), so I also have sewing projects with that, making new garb and such.
I'm hoping to get 2015's costumes done soon-ish or at least a good chunk done before 2015 so I can get a head start on 2016, where I'll be making 3 costumes! one for myself, my husband, and a friend of ours who wants to join in. So that year I'll be SUPER SUPER busy! but it'll be super super fun

I'm lucky that I work with my mom on the outfits. We basically tag team on them so we get done faster. For next year, I plan on doing a Sailor Lolita, a stylized outfit I designed, and maybe a prom dress. There is the possibility my first steampunk outfit might be done by then as well. Thank god for a full year to work on all that!

yeah, sadly none of my friends really do any cosplay or know how to sew.. nor do they live close enough XP I wish I had someone to tag team on cosplay work! So you're very lucky! lol
Sailor lolita sounds cute! you'll have to post a picture when you're done with it! same with the steampunk too!
Yes, thank god for a full year to get stuff done!!

I'm actually behind on my photos. I do have a few lolita to take pictures of, like a cyber lolita and a qi lolita. I want to start posting pictures of my outfits. I might have to ask my friends if I can go over their place one day and they can help with the pictures since there is only desert landscape at my place. My house is small so no place good for pictures.
Right now I'm focusing on photographing my ceramics since I'm so behind on that. So much ceramics.... @.@

Ooh, cyber lolita sounds neat!
Yeah, I live in a small apartment, so I feel ya with that.. not good for pictures. unless I go elsewhere. I'd like to get more pictures of some of my cosplays (that aren't con photos) but I'd have to maybe have my sister help me take photos...but she lives a couple hours away, so its a bit inconvenient lol
Your ceramics are pretty good! So it's not a bad thing to focus on

I have space (like an acre and a quarter) but it's all desert. That would be weird for some of my cosplays, like Chibitalia from Hetalia. My friends are less then an hour away, so my visit will have to be planned.
I'm pretty proud of my ceramics. I spend time making sure my details are accurate.

wow, thats pretty nice!
all my friend visits have to be planned too lol
heh, I know what that's like I'm a bit of a perfectionist.

RubaiSora In reply to percylove [2014-06-28 00:58:15 +0000 UTC]
I'm not a perfectionist, but I at least like to take pride in my work. So that means that there has to be some level of perfection, even if it's not completely perfect. I believe nothing can be completely perfect and that we should celebrate imperfection. I actually love stuff that is off.

percylove In reply to RubaiSora [2014-06-28 14:20:13 +0000 UTC]
I also take a lot of pride in my work too
I like to make things as perfect as I can, but if it's off, there's not much I can really do about it, except for learn how to make it better..
so making mistakes is always a good thing makes you learn, which is fun!
I remember a loooong time ago, that we had an assignment in art class in which we were not allowed to use pencil/erasers, but had to use ink. and I remember making a mistake in my drawing and my teacher came by and said something along the lines of: make the mistake part of the drawing.
so like if I made an errant line somewhere, instead of being mad that I couldn't get rid of it, make it into something that would be part of the drawing.

Too true.... In ceramics, I actually sometimes spend one day just not saving anything I throw because I'm just practicing my technique. On those days, I end up messing up a lot because I'm trying to figure out what I can and can't do. Every piece is a learning experience.
That's the only down side of pen and ink: if you make a mistake, you have to incorporate it into your work. God.... I want to do a drawing now using ink. I might have some paper around and my ink might still be good.

yup yup, I do the same with making stuff too. I'll just make throw-away stuff just so I can learn.
hehe, go do it!

RubaiSora In reply to percylove [2014-07-01 01:00:10 +0000 UTC]
It's a great way to learn~ With ceramics, I can at least reuse the material. For sewing, I have to use scraps I don't need. It's probably why I love ceramics: a little clay goes a long way.
I ended up painting a picture for my friend..... Going cheap for birthday and Christmas presents again.... If I can't sleep, I might do some pen drawings of original characters.

percylove In reply to RubaiSora [2014-07-01 18:13:34 +0000 UTC]
yeah ceramics is great in that way, that you get to just re-use the material! with sewing, not so much. especially if you get a delicate/expensive fabric! you make a mistake while trying to learn something on it and completely ruin it... you have to buy more fabric
awesome!
That's what I like to do for Cmas gifts too - make stuff. Its a lot cheaper! Not sure what I'm gonna do this year. My husband had an idea of drawing chibis for people, but we'll see what happens. Another idea may pop into my head later
