It's just an unwrited rule between softers that you don't pretend to be what you're not. We're you a teenager or not. I'm not sure if you would wear barets (if this is what you mean) that have no ranks or unit signs on them, but i don't even like those hats.
Of course it is quite amousing to wear an old Soviet officer jacket and run around gunning people down and screaming ''orders'' for the younger people, we actually even have a special game type like this which we play occasionally, called ''Commissar'', where the other team is given a few soldiers who's mission is to keep the game in constant move by pushing their own team forward and, if necessary, shooting deserters. Of course they don't have to take hits by their own team.
I think i'll stay with my cap, it's pretty much perfect for my current gear set anyways (i play myself as a PMC/Merc/Guerilla). Too bad i happened to lose that flag.

We have stripes, either stripe is the color of the next belt (except white has no stripes). It kinda depends on the gym. For example we don't have orange at all.
