I am. ^^ But...I don't exactly know how closely, though. I was rummaging around on Ancestry.com after my maternal Grandmother had passed away. I was researching her lineage because, well,I missed her, and I felt closer to her in a way, as I was looking up our old family history. Y'see, my Grandmother's maiden name was McGovney, and she used to tell me when I was a kid, about how all the McGovney's are related to each other through a James McGovney who came over to America from county Antrim in Northern Ireland. I contacted a woman by the name of "Betty Lou Riley", who runs the family tree, and she filled in the blanks for me on the historical parts. Anyhoo, I remembered that Metallica's 1st bassist's name was "McGovney", so I asked her about him, and she confirmed that he was indeed, part of our mutual McGovney family tree. Where exactly he falls in, I'm not sure. So, I don't know through whom exactly, Ron and I are related. I only know that we share some common ancestors. At the beginning of last year, I decided to look Ron up on MySpace... After making an idiot out of myself because I didn't believe that the page I found was really his, we IM'ed back and forth and got my facts straight. LOL! I even corrected a Wikipedia page for him that had his birthday listed as the wrong year. About 4 days later, one of my little cousins from down here logged onto my account and started e-mailing Ron's kids about us being related. She didn't even know who Metallica was, she just knew Ron was associated with rock stars. Yeah...so...um...anyway, that turned into a big huge mess because then I get this e-mail from Ron asking if I had called his old house where his kids lived, and if I had contacted them, or something, because he said that his Mom had called him, asking him about the e-mails his kids got from my account. Well, after about a week or two of retracing steps, changing passwords, and what-have-you, we FINALLY figured out what had happened with my little cousin and her frivolous e-mailing. LOL! But, ever since then, Ron has been a bit reluctant to answer any of my messages. LOL! I can't really blame him. He doesn't know me, and I imagine the awkward situation DID freak him out a little. XD Oh, well. LOL! So, its not like we're actually close family, or anything. *shrugs* Steven Adler & Sebastian Bach still answer my MySpace messages every-so-often, though. LOL! LOL! I had no idea really, until I logged onto one of those "find your relatives" sites. XD My last name is "Biggs", so I get asked if I'm related to Jason Biggs, too. But, since "Biggs" is one of the Old English names, its a little more difficult to search in the sense that its almost as frustrating as the names "Smith", and "Johnson" because there are just SO MANY families who carry those surnames. So, as for Jason Biggs, I have no idea if we're related, and it doesn't look very promising that I'll ever find my exact "Biggs" family tree to confirm or deny. LOL! Log onto Ancestry.com, or something like that. You could very well stumble onto something very cool. ^_^

If you've got Scots-Irish blood, though, like the McGovneys, searching would probably be pretty easy. We Scots-Irish basically floated around in clans from place to place because we kept getting chased out by like, the English & stuff. LOL! Although, I think searching Axl's biological surname would be difficult... Even though he is of Celtic descent, "Rose" is a pretty widespread surname. LOL!

TYSVM for the warm welcome!! ^_^ And, yes, it is quite refreshing to see someone else so close to my own age. Be warned, though. My GNR FanArt can get kind of silly sometimes. LOL! Especially when I draw them in anime style. (Axl's pretty face & slightly up-turned nose made me think that he looked like anime) LOL! I think Izzy's clothes & classic guitars are really fun to draw, too. ^_^
