no worries, I'm very much behind with my replies on dA as well.
I had a busy and partly also rough time in which I didn't create art or photographs so it'd have been depressing for me to be surrounded by the plethora of amazing stuff here on dA. This is why I was basically absent here.
Get ready for more favs of your amazing photographs though. Even when browsing through your gallery quickly I can already see a ton of photos I want to take a closer look at. You seem to have a great eye and interest for nature.
I hope your move went well and I also read something about a new job, so congrats!

we've just been away for nearly a month visiting Cape Town and Dubai

no worries, I'm super late with replying, too. I took a longer break from deviantart as I just had too much going on which sadly prevented me from creating any art.
Oh wow, Cape Town and Dubai, that sounds great! These two are actually pretty far apart, did you guys do it in one trip? Which would you visit another time?
If I could pick, I would choose to visit Cape Town, but traveling is always awesome. 
I'm glad to hear that you took some great photos there, because looking through your gallery makes me happy. You have a great eye for capturing unique moments and I also enjoy reading the poems or quotes!

Good to hear from you Ryurules. Sometimes real life does get in the way of dA
To fly to Cape Town we needed to change flights and Dubai was the best place to do it. On our return there would have been a ten hour wait for the connection so we opted to stay for a couple of nights. This gave us the opportunity to photograph both in the city and in the desert beyond. The Burj Khalifa, falcon and the camel shots resulted, plus a few in my 'pending file'

Your photography is beautiful. I love looking at the landscapes as I also love to hike and I wish to buy myself a great camera so I can also capture what I see during hiking. And that's exactly what you do: capturing the beauty of nature and sharing it with us. Thank you for this! I really enjoy looking at your photography as every one of the photos is unique with its own colors, mood and theme from snow-covered trees to colorful flowers, blue lakes to warm sunsets. The saying ''quality over quantity'' really applies to your work.

Understandable. Here the weather was all rainy as well around the time that you've been writing this.
Now that it's not that wet and rainy anymore, it's getting colder. It has been snowing a couple of days ago.
Actually winter time is what I'm curiously awaiting every year, but sadly I won't be able to make any winter themed photos this year as my camera broke.
